This is one of the best Thai restaurants i have visited so far. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes were delish. The service was also warm and friendly.
I highly recommend anything with the Panang Curry and the Beef Pad See Ew
Tamarind is a relatively new Thai restaurant in Latham. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Nicely decorated and exceptionally clean.
My test of most Thai restaurants is the Pad Thai, and decided to try the Country Thai with shrimp which is somewhat spicier than the...normal Pad Thai. Large perfectly done shrimp were served on a bed of rice noodles with egg, scallion, and crushed peanuts nicely spiced, but not too spicy. Delicious. My wife had the Tom Kha soup with chicken. It was also delicious.
We also tried the scallion pancake appetizer, a large crispy portion enough for 2. Very good.
Service was friendly and competent.
We will be back.More
We recently ate at this new Thai restaurant. The menu is similar to the popular Seladon Thai. You can choose your meat, sauce, and degree of heat. The food is well prepared and served by very friendly staff. The decor is refreshingly simple. Parking is...right in front of the restaurant.More
Tamarind Thai, only open for a couple months, took over in the same location as the former SriSiam. This restaurant is in a little strip mall not far from the 76 Diner on RT-9. It's modern looking inside with cushy Parsons chairs & long booth...seating on one side. There was a mural on one wall with Thai cultural drawings. The lunch entrees we ordered came with a choice of soup (delicious) or salad. I've been there twice & liked their Country Pad Thai (little spicier) better than their regular Pad Thai (little bland). The 1st time I went, I was surprised to receive a complimentary dessert, a piece of fried banana topped with honey. The 2nd time, there was no dessert served. I asked & was told that while they sometimes would surprise a diner by serving free dessert, it wasn't included in their regular lunch. Their prices are reasonable & dessert ordinarily isn't included with lunch at other Thai restaurants. It just was a little disappointing as it had been served to me the 1st time.More
