Amy provided catering for my team of 25. Not only was the food delicious, but there were so many special touches to make it perfect. She thought of everything. From her soups, to the homemade chutney she prepared for our vegetarian diner, it was divine....I wish she had her own restaurant so I could take a trip up there with friends for another delicious meal.More

There is no place like Amy’s Take-Away. Amy is a gem who knows her food, and flavors. One can taste her interest in many things and her warm heart. She puts love into her food. This is a place well off the beaten path but...worth a visit and taste. We’ve been doing the 50 minute drive for four years.More

I went up to the nearby Breathe Inn for a bachelorette party (14 girls!) and Amy's catering came highly recommended -- and she did NOT disappoint. I worked with Amy for a few weeks on a perfectly curated menu for our group, which included a...starter, salad, main course, and dessert (also known as, the best strawberry rhubarb I've ever had). The food was so fresh and delicious, and truly one of the highlights of our weekend. Thank you, Amy!More

I did not eat at Amy's restaurant. I used her catering services. My daughter was recently married at the Roxbury Barn. I hosted a dinner the night before the wedding and brunch the day after. The caterer I originally hired fell through, and at the...recommendation of the owner of the home we rented in the area, I hired Amy; a great decision on my part! We talked several times before the events. She always reassured me that everything would be perfect--and it was. The appetizers were very good, but the dinner was out of this world. Amy prepared poached salmon, over jasmine rice with vegetable ragu. I can honestly say the salmon was superb; delicious and perfectly cooked. Although I cannot remember all the vegetables in the ragu, they too were fresh, delicious, perfectly cooked and my girlfriend swears contained a "secret" spice! The show stopper was chocolate cheesecake with strawberries. Not even a sliver was left and I'm pretty sure most guests were licking their plates when they thought no one was looking! Amy's brunch consisting of sticky buns, a fruit platter and egg, sausage and potato casserole hit the spot the morning after the wedding. Amy is an amazing person and takes great pride in her cooking. She should because her food is memorable.More

What a treat. While traveling to Kingston to pick up some pre-ordered furniture, we stumbled upon Amy's for some great wraps and salads. The owner is fun also - very friendly!

A few weeks back we were staying at Hunter Mountain for a ski weekend and were 2 couples (& a 2yo). We were very fortunate to stumbled across Amy's Take Away when we were looking for dinner. The dinner she whipped up for us blew...our expectations out of the water! Coming from 4 self-professed foodies, this was a dinner we would have expected to come from a Michelin starred restaurant! Can't wait until we come back to Hunter and place our next order!More

Amy's food is delightfully fresh and delicious, all for extremely reasonable prices. The garden is glorious and wonderful to eat in. And Amy herself is friendly and fascinating. It feels like coming into a friend's home for lunch --highly recommended!

I want Amy's all to myself, but feel compelled to write this review - because this place is spectacular. My family went here for a late lunch on Sunday, Memorial Day weekend, and were blown away. A little kitchen in the Catskills has no business...turning out the best Cuban sandwich any of us has ever had. It was huge and executed perfectly. The pork loin was freshly roasted. The crab and corn bisque was straight out of a seaside shack - loaded with crab and fresh sweet corn. We also ordered the nettles and green garlic soup: brilliant. I took more home with me. I don't eat veggie burgers (I eat burgers) but settled on the veggie burger anyway because it sounded so good. It was, BAR NONE, the BEST VEGGIE BURGER any of us have ever had. Made from chick peas, lentils, gruyere and feta cheese, it was every bit as satisfying as ground sirloin (which must bode well for Amy's meat burgers). If you find yourself within 25 miles of Amy's, do yourself a favor and go there. It's only been a few hours and we miss it terribly.More

Amy's Take Away is a must-stop on Route 214 between Phoenicia and Hunter, a couple miles from either town. Amy is truly passionate about food and local ingredients, and serves up a changing menu of delicious and thoughtful soups, sandwiches and dinners, like a recent...southern themed offering of peanut soup and shrimp and grits. Her chicken salad with grapes and tarragon was absolutely the best I ever had! And in the summer, you can enjoy your meal sitting in her lovely garden surrounded by flowers and heirloom vegetables.More
