We went as a group and had a very nice time. The service was very friendly and the food, great. After a few bottles of wine we went outdoors to drum on bongos around the bonfire. Delightful!

Enjoyed excellent vegetarian Shwarma with good friends around the fire. Can't be beat. The funky vibe is good fun and the host and hostess were brilliant.

Laid back. Cold beer and good food. Visited a couple of times during our stay in Port st Johns and every time something new to explore in the menu. This is unpretentious good food. Service is laid back like the town, but more than sufficient. We had a good couple of meals ! Thanks guys.

Port St Johns is one of those places that should really be doing much better, if everyone did not herd themselves into Cape Town and Durban. One of the great things in the very small town is the un-assuming but absolute value for money restaurants by the beach side. Delicious Monster is one of them. The fish is divinely fresh... More

Leave all your prejudices at home and go. The best setting for an eatery anywhere. Awesome value. We had a wonderful crayfish and mussel casserole for R120-00! If you don't want box wine, take your own.

Up the hill and therefore overlooking the area invisible post of the beach. Hippie style decor. Fresh food, nothing extraordinary but very decent. Friendly and relaxed service.

Take a throwback to the seventies and eighties in this wonderful, hippie place. Take your own drinks unless you enjoy Black Label quarts and the lamb Shwarma is highly recommended. A nice evening and an eye-opener for the teenage kids!

Set in amongst the tropical forest down by second beach this little hippy retreat has a cosy, brightly colored restaurant where the catch of the day is served. We ate sea bream which was as delicious as it was fresh, served with a choice of sides. Jan, our Dutch waiter was extremely pleasant and the entire evening a delight as... More
