We’ve heard so many great comments from people over the years, but never got there until this month. We went in with high expectations & we had a delightful experience! The restaurant has a warm rustic Adirondack feel, with a large stone fireplace a cozy bar area with an ample amount of seating. They offer a wide variety of dinner options, but they’re known for their steaks, so we tried the Filet & the Delmonico. They both come with bread, a cup of soup, salad & a side. The drinks were reasonably priced & we topped it off with a slice of homemade blueberry pie! All in all, a great experience & worth the short drive out of town away from all the craziness!

Amazing food! Hands down the best near lake placid. Prices are fair and it’s a family owned establishment. Couple who owns it are beyond accommodating! Service, food, prices, all wonderful! Went there almost every night of our vacation. Definitely recommend! They give you the daily soup AND salad with every entree. Also includes bread! We also ordered the filet minon and fisherman’s platter. Well worth it! We had a seafood chowder soup one night and a roasted red pepper soup tomato soup another. The roasted red pepper tomato soup is out is out of this world!!!

Just outside of Lake Placid heading east on Rt 73, not much to look at from the outside but inside is nice and the menu is pretty extensive and very affordable. Someone told us this is where the locals go to get a steak but I guess I'm spoiled living in Rochester NY where the best steaks are at Black and Blue. Steaks here seem pan fried in butter which frankly I'm not against but they didn't seem to be seasoned AT ALL. Very bland. The wife and I were salting and peppering the crap out of our steaks. You get a full meal here too meaning soup, salad, bread. Service was fantastic. I'd definitely go back but just wouldn't get a steak.

Brought the family here last week, wife and four 14 year old girls. They let my wife stand and eat at the bar due to back issues so the kids sat at a table right next to us. Food is good, very reasonably priced, comes with soup and salad too. Service great, George our server was great, $15 corkage fee.

What really stood out for us is that this place doesn't cut corners. My wife's mixed drink was carefully prepared with choice ingredients, the same as you would expect from a higher priced establishment. The cheddar jalapeno soup was delicious and not too spicy, just as described. My salad was fresh and the blue cheese dressing had real chunks of blue cheese - far richer than the thin wimpy dressings you sometimes get. Our main courses were delicious, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and attentive. At this time of Covid, they can only operate at about half of normal capacity, so do call ahead for a table. It's worth it.

Over the years and the many times we've frequented Joe and Coleen's place, we've never been disappointed. Joe is a great cook and Coleen runs a great restaurant. The food is always excellent. Last night Joe served me the best soup I've ever enjoyed there, a Buffalo Chicken soup. Rich, spicy, and well-balanced. As everyone in our little village knows, that while we may be a 'Resort Town', the locals go to the Cascade Inn. That says it all!

Used to be our go-to place but things have certainly changed. Hey steak was not tough, just tasteless. My veal schnitzel was so tough it wouldn’t cut with the steak knife. Fittingly, it was dried out and in the shape of the sole of a shoe. I only regret not taking a picture of this meal.

The restaurant is located a couple miles away from the center of the town and is mostly visited by the local residents. The menu is impressive and prices are very reasonable. The decor, inside and outside, needs updating but they have white tablecloths and all the normal staples of an old fashioned steakhouse: bread basket, soup and salad included with the meal and served before the main course. Food was ok but fell a bit short of expectations when the french onion soup was too salty and the bread was falling apart, cucumbers in the salad were old and rack of lamb appeared to not be fresh. My husband had an upset stomach after and we threw the leftovers away. Overall it was ok for the price, but the impressive menu created expectations that the kitchen staff could not live up to.

My husband and I frequently come to this restaurant as the food is consistently top notch. The staff truly cares about your experience and they are very friendly. The food is absolutely amazing – They make a homemade soup and it changes daily- always a nice surprise to try each time we are there. (The roasted Red pepper soup is delicious!). Highly recommend this restaurant. Wendy and Brad Divine

We were a party of twenty-eight friends who had reservations on Saturday night. Thank you Joe and Colleen for accommodating our group. It was Prime Rib Night and seventeen of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The others enjoyed chicken piccata, ravioli parmesan and sea scallops. Kathleen was our server. Thank you! All of the staff were patient and attentive. We had a wonderful evening. We would love to return sometime.

A family favorite for years, our son chose the Cascade Inn for his 40th birthday celebration. As always, the food, service, and ambiance are excellent. With many fine restaurants in Lake Placid, this was undoubtedly the most memorable meal of our weekend visit. Our family always enjoys the casual rustic decor of the Cascade Inn. Our group of 18 was seated in a charming private area. A large wood-burning fireplace, knotty-pine walls, and wood-beamed ceiling give the room a toasty ambiance, especially on a cold winter night. Crisp linens, fresh curtains, white lights, snowshoes, and Adirondack art complete the look. Every dinner was absolutely scrumptious - cooked to perfection! The extensive menu, including both traditional and upscale entrees, is sure to please every taste. Our family ordered everything from prime rib, schnitzel, and chicken gruyere to ravioli, crab legs, lobster tails, and pasta with scallops and shrimp. Our dinners came with a hearty potato soup, fresh garden salad, and warm rolls. It's nice (and a bit reminiscent for the past) to have these included in the meal price, not add-ons. All of the dinners were piping-hot and served at nearly the same time - our compliments to the chef and staff! (Wine, beer, and cocktails are wonderful, too.) We found Kathleen and Stephanie, our servers, to be delightful! They both are knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Having such excellent service made the evening all the more enjoyable. The Cascade Inn never disappoints - just love this place, can't wait to come back! Many thanks to all!

Great food! Great service! Soup of the day was a loaded baked potato, yummy! Salad fresh! The prime rib is cooked to perfection! And my one daughter absolutely loved the kids baked ravioli! She gave them two thumbs up, and she’s picky.
