Over the river and through the woods to Saranac Sourdough I go (and throw a ferry ride in as well) for their homemade hash and eggs. Just beware that when you step up to that counter that you need to have that Like A Boss attitude. Ever see Seinfeld with the Soup Nazi? Yeah, it can be like that.

This looked like a cool place.......their specialty is a variety of homemade sourdough breads for their sandwiches..... Our to go order had ALL stale bread, poor ingredients, and the woman in charge was obviously having a really bad day......nasty disposition......very poor.....

Sandwiches were awful. We were hungry and intrigued by their menu. Their homemade bread was dry, they forgot the provolone, the roasted peppers were minuscule, not enough spread. Really disappointing and the lady taking the order was a bit ornery. We ordered 5 sandwiches to go and no one liked them.

Very casual place recommended by hotel across the way. Really nice choice of sourdough breads - loved the rosemary one. Nice choices and combos. Not a quick place though - we were there for 45 min and we were kind of in a rush. Not a fancy looking place.

We had brutal service only to be matched by over paying for small sandwiches. Not filling, not tasty. Avoid at all costs.

I had a wonderful chicken salad sandwich, and my companion had a generous bowl of chicken noodle soup. It is a charming place for some healthy options. I would like to try breakfast next time.

We ate breakfast here on our last morning in Lake Placid on the recommendation of a New York Times "36 Hours in Lake Placid" article and had a really great breakfast. The bread is delicious and everything was cooked to order (loved the local eggs). We even bought some bread to bring back home with us. The restaurant and the... More

Tried to go here for breakfast , after waiting 15 minutes outside for service went inside . There was only one woman working behind counter . Was extremely rude and short . Disorganized . The coffee looked old and there was no milk out for coffee . Weird spot . Wouldn't waste time . Had high hopes looks cute on... More

The sandwiches were really good. We arrived at 2:30pm and were limited to the types of bread and cheese. It appears this place has a lot of regular happy customers that come for the good food. We ended up still getting 2 delicious sandwiches.
