We had brutal service only to be matched by over paying for small sandwiches. Not filling, not tasty. Avoid at all costs.

I had a wonderful chicken salad sandwich, and my companion had a generous bowl of chicken noodle soup. It is a charming place for some healthy options. I would like to try breakfast next time.

We ate breakfast here on our last morning in Lake Placid on the recommendation of a New York Times "36 Hours in Lake Placid" article and had a really great breakfast. The bread is delicious and everything was cooked to order (loved the local eggs). We even bought some bread to bring back home with us. The restaurant and the... More

Tried to go here for breakfast , after waiting 15 minutes outside for service went inside . There was only one woman working behind counter . Was extremely rude and short . Disorganized . The coffee looked old and there was no milk out for coffee . Weird spot . Wouldn't waste time . Had high hopes looks cute on... More

The sandwiches were really good. We arrived at 2:30pm and were limited to the types of bread and cheese. It appears this place has a lot of regular happy customers that come for the good food. We ended up still getting 2 delicious sandwiches.

I ordered a salad with grilled chicken. The salad was served in a small bowl - one you would have for a side salad with dinner. There was barely any food in the bowl - some barely cut up greens, four or five tasteless grape tomatoes and not enough chicken to feed a child. This for $7.50. I remember years... More

We ate here for breakfast, and it was good, but the service is extremely slow. It wasn't even that busy, so not sure what the problem was. I think it'd be great for phone in orders like picking up sandwiches for an outing. My chair was really rickety and I cut my finger on it.

Pancakes were claimed to be "fluffy" -- they were not -- they were qwet and soggy and much too sweet.

Decorated in an interesting way, with comfortable homey tables/chairs. The food is all homemade and freshly put together. A great variety to choose from and VERY tasty.

When we visit Lake Placid we always have to go Saranac Sourdough to eat. The food is always delicious and the soups are the best! If you are looking for really good food in Lake Placid I would highly recommend going to Saranac Sourdough.
