I adore this restaurant. The owners are very flexible and you can order most things vegetarian and the bartender is always ready to make you a delicious cocktail. I love getting take-out and just discovered the eggplant pizza. The wine list is impeccable and the...staff is always attentive without hovering too much. If you have friends visiting from out of town or you're visiting yourself, this is the place to be. Avoid main street if you can and come for a casual date or birthday dinner!More
Caffe Rustica is the go to place in town! Whether it’s special occasions, casual date night, or a night out with the family, you can’t ask for a better place to spend your evenings. Spectacular food, exceptional service, and a warm welcoming ambiance is everything...Caffe Rustica offers. Always consistently delicious meals! Oh, and don't forget to save room for carrot cake- it is the best in the world! Their extensive wine selection and creative craft cocktails designed and made in house always pair great with any menu item and/or daily specials offered. It truly is the best place to dine in Lake Placid and a MUST on your list of places to eat while in town.More
I have no idea why this restaurant is well-reviewed. I went with my family and was shocked at the low quality food we received for the price. Personal pizzas that were priced at $16 each came with soggy crusts, covered in an excess of cheap...mozzarella cheese, such as would disgrace the cheapest, lousiest hole-in-the-wall pizza place. A salad of goat cheese and "roasted" beets, similarly high priced, was delivered with a couple of limp slices of beets that I am fairly sure came from a can. The mushroom ravioli dish I ordered was undercooked, both the ravioli, and even the peas on top. My husband had a vegetarian pizza that redefined the meaning of "bland." Overpriced awfulness from start to finish.More
We went to Caffe Rustica this week for dinner. The food was excellent -- we had the Salsiccia Orchiette and a Mahi-Mahi dish for entrees. For the appetizer, we had an equally delicious Pan Roasted Goat Cheese. The staff was friendly and the layout of...the restaurant was upscale, modern and cozy. Our only concern was the crowded dining area. While we have no doubt the restaurant adheres to current law, and parties were generally at least six feet apart, we felt that the two dining room areas were both a bit to crowded. We flag this because we had called ahead, asking about making sure we weren't too close to other customers. While the restaurant seemed receptive to accommodating that concern on the phone, we saw tables fill up as we dined. We also saw no attempts at dividers, such as plexiglass, curtains, etc. We were going to have dessert there, but decided to leave after the main course due to our concern about occupancy. For that reason, we will take a point off the overall rating and atmosphere rating. Assuming the restaurant complies with all current rules, we would suggest getting your order to-go, but be sure to tip as though you were dining in. The meal was cheap, but we found it to be a fair price for the quality.More
We were amazed by the quality of the dinner we had here. The wine list is small but very good. The entrees are freshly made in an open area and fantastic. The pasta dishes are made to order and better that many I have had...in major high end restaurants in larger cities throughout our travels. The pizza is made in a wood fire oven and is excellent. Our server was warm and super efficient. She was a real gem. I would highly recommend having dinner here if you are in Lake Placid. A real treat.More
My wife and I visited Lake Placid for four nights. This was our first time in town and our first stop was the Tesla Supercharger. While charging, I looked at the map on my screen to see what businesses were nearby. I saw this restaurant...was just across the parking lot. I looked at their menu online and fell in love. We had dinner here three nights in a row. We sampled cocktails, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. All items were exceptional, all staff was delightful. This restaurant is not inexpensive, but it's worth it. Delicious.
(Our visit was during the pandemic. Safety measures were taken and tables were well spaced.)More
