Service was fantastic. Food was exceptional. Colleen was professional, kind, friendly, and knowledgeable! Everything we had was delicious: potato & leek soup, carrot & parsnip hummus, Ethiopian shrimp, lobster risotto, and Dee’s Salad. Lovely decor, warm environment, and welcoming hospitality! Highly recommended.

Our first dinner at Salt of the E.B. will not be our last! Our party of 5 had a fabulous meal. Our server was a professional, we never had to wait for drinks, water refills, or our next course. We started with Pork Belly, Ethiopian...Spicy Shrimp & the Artisan bread plate. After tasting all of that & pronouncing everything delicious, we really got excited about our mains, which were the Pan Seared Magret Duck Breast, Crispy Breaded Veal Cutlets, Persian Lamb Stew & the Plain Jane Half Pound hamburger, which was anything but plain. Everyone loved their meal. The duck was perfect, my husband could not stop talking about how good his veal was, for days, and as I am a stew lover, the lamb stew was perfect. We also had the house salad (yum) and as we were celebrating a birthday, finished with the upside down orange cranberry cake with caramel sauce. It was delightful. We are going back in March!!More

We had a fantastic dinner here tonight. Started with the carrot and parsnip hummus and the pork belly. Then shared the duck. Finished with the cranberry orange upside down cake. All top notch. The duck in particular was excellent. Complemented it all with a nice...bottle of Italian red wine. Highly recommend!More

Off the beaten path sits this gem in an old house. Inventive, delicious meals. Had the lamb stew, ans it was perfect for a frigid winter night. Get away from the tourist area, and try Salt of the Earth.

Hidden gem in Lake Placid. We had our New Year’s Eve dinner. Excellent Covid safety measures. Great service, food was good but very oriental, a little too spicy for our taste, especially the lam stew, the duck was delicious. Highly recommend for foodies who like...to explore a different cuisine.More

A very nice, smallish place with interesting decor. The menu is eclectic -- from game dishes to steak to vegan options. Great service and some of the best food we've had in awhile. A must do if you're in Lake Placid.

First, make a reservation as there is limited seating at this time. The staff was excellent all around. Very friendly and attentive and went out of their way when they discovered it was our anniversary. Greatly appreciated. The menu is fairly short but elective and...creative. Appreciated that they offered vegetarian as well as vegan options. When we are back in the area we will definitely enjoy another meal at Salt of the Earth.More

Excellent food and service. We went for our anniversary dinner while staying in Keene, less than 15 minutes away. Be sure to make advance reservations since they have limited capacity. The food is an eclectic mix of cuisines, which create a very tasty and interesting...menu. We started with Mulligatawny soup and the Berbere shrimp - WOW both were outstanding. Our entrees included the moroccan venison stew and the heritage pork chop with al pastor sauce (like lamb shawarma). Again the flavor parings were unusual but were delicious. We ended with the ethereal peach shortcake. Holy moly the whole dinner was top notch and the service outstanding. 5 stars!!More

We loved the limited choice fantastic menu and also the location being in an old house. My venison stew served on a bed on couscous was a surprise. I added extra pepper and salt for the needed wild (non-farm raised) kick and husband’s pork chop...was excellent in size, creatively presented and taste. Great restaraunt in the small village of Lake Placid. We’d go back!More
