The food at Rickshaws Cafe is absolutely delicious. Being there seven days we tried most of what was on the menu and it was all excellent. Their moto is to get it on the table within 20 min of ordering and they did that. The...presentation of the food is beautiful and the taste exquisite. My three favorites were the lobster curry, a must try, the pizza and the three cheese hot pasta dish.More

The menu was amazing. Not only was the taste of each dish delicious, but the food was also cooked to perfection. The lobster bisque was a treat, and the fish tacos had a homemade sauce. Everything was baked and cooked with all homemade sauces and...dips and butters. My favorite dessert was the banana flambe. The service was very good, and the view of the sunset from the patio restaurant topped off the evenings.More

The food was a feast for the eyes as well as for the palate. As we enjoyed the food, the ambiance was calm and serene. We enjoyed the restaurant both for lunch and dinner. The sun setting over the water was beautiful. Friendly, attentive staff...were ready to answer any questions we had about the menu. We appreciated that they had vegetarian options. The bread was homemade, baked fresh that day.More

The food is Amazing! Especially lobster curry, would recommend. Great options, maybe could expand the menu but every item I tried was amazing (Curry, Burger, Fish Tacos, Pizzas). Atmosphere is nice, although some music could have been better for the occasion. The staff was great,...got the orders right everytime and the wait time for the meal was never too long. Love the deserts on offer, some weren't available but that is understandable of course. Overall, really recommend Rickshaws to anyone wanting a good meal, especially the curry!More

We preferred this place over others on Ilha de M., as they do not pretend being upscale or something. Food was good, service as fast as one can expect: rather slow.

Went there last night ,had a lovely meal, one of their composit plates consisting of calamari in a tomato sauce, a little bowl with a kind of relish, a fried fish and a choice of rice or chimo which is made of cassava flour. The service...is attentive and kind.More

This restaurant / hotel is among the finest we have ever visited! The rooms are meticulously detailed expressive of timeless luxury. The food selections are diverse and extraordinary. The staff is extremely friendly and responsive without being intrusive. The views from the rooms and restaurant...are deliciously tropical. A great place to relax and enjoy life! Specialties include a lobster Curry that is unbelievable. Banana flambe among a multitude of decadent desserts. You can arrange everything from all inclusive packages with every detail if your trip taken care of, or just visit for lunch or dinner. You will always feel welcomed here.More

Having lived in Mozambique for 4 years, I´ve seen a couple of hotels in Moz and neighboring countries. Rickshaw Pousada was the loveliest experience so far. It was their attention to detail that did it: friendly, personal service, refreshing drinks on arrival, good-quality local-made soaps,...fridge full of drinking water (and even a bottle of wine waiting!), the general helpfulness PLUS great food, since Rickshaw is also one of Ilha´s best restaurants. There is no pool, but who needs it when you have a beautiful private beach, beach towels waiting and ready and the INdian Ocean front of you? Tip: Please do not hesitate to approach to super-friendly staff with any question you might have regarding Ilha, souvenir shopping, guides, your room etc. They will take good care of you.More

I spent eight nights from October’10-18,2019 at Rickshaws Pousads’s Cafe and Hotel. I can tell you from day one, we were treated like royalty! The staff has raised the bar of excellence and professionalism to an all time high! The hospitality manger Isac and his...entire hospitality team can teach a course in hospitality and customer service. The food and service are totally incredible! My favorite menu items were...everything on the menu lol , particularly the Egg Frittatas with their excellent coffee for breakfast, the pizza for lunch and the Lobster Curry for dinner is a sure hit! and crepes and tea as a late night snack! The place is well kept and very clean! The scenery and ambience is indescribable with beautiful sunsets ,early sunrises and the sound of the ocean roaring day and night! The Owner Roger Schmidt and is wife Lynne are super friendly and very accommodating, whose goal is 100% customer satisfaction. The entire staffs smiles constantly and they take great pride in service and taking very good care of their guest. If you are on the island of Mozambique, this place is a must! They get 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ from me! I can’t wait until next time!More

Arrived tired, leaving rested and refreshed. The hospitality here is what makes ALL the difference - from the warm welcome to the care throughout our stay, from remembering our names to the attention to detail and willingness to be flexible. The rooms are beautifully decorated...with the same attention to detail and thoughtfulness that is a trademark here. The breakfast (included when you stay overnight) is generous and delicious with a varied menu. But it's the smiles as it's served and the sense of pride the staff have in their work and surroundings here (and the stunning views) which make us want to return as soon as we can.More

This is my second stay at Rickshaws and I cannot say enough good things about this property. From the greeting by smiling faces, the passion fruit welcome beverage that is presented, the beautifully appointed rooms with all the desired amenities, the delicious food...included breakfast but...also the restaurant, to the spectacular view. This morning I am trying a new breakfast offering, Eggs Benedict. The eggs are poached perfectly and the hollandaise has just the perfect amount of spice. The muffins they are presented on were baked fresh, on property, last night. I am looking forward to sunset today when I can enjoy a lemongrass tea, served with a complimentary crepe, watching the sun set over the water from the beautiful patio, restaurant area, surrounded by blooming bougainvillea and restored working rickshaw!More
