Well, I found this place to be very good. We were there on a Wednesday night about 8 and it wasn't crowded. We easily got a booth for four.
They also offer table seating. I just saw the one dining room. I'm not sure if there are more places to eat within the restaurant.
We ordered a whole array of dishes; beef, pork, salad and a crab curry. All was shared and arrived at the table as it was prepared, serial style. We were each given a plate so we could portion out the food. We ordered a combination of spicy and less spicy dishes.
The stand out was the crab curry but all was very good.
They offer a full bar, including wine and beers. They had a couple Thai beers. The ginger ale was served in a large mug.
Prices were very reasonable.

I am so happy my daughter dragged me to Kitchen 79, I was a little worried because the Thai food I enjoy is in Park Slope (Brooklyn). And I couldn’t find a good Thai place in Queens, Until Kitchen 79, it’s not only in Queens but it’s in Jackson Heights so close to home. So let me start by saying the place is Beautifully and simply decorated in Black and White with a touch of unique items that makes you say “Wow nice Chandelier or Nice decoration piece wasn’t expecting to see that.” ( you will find yourself say this in the Restroom as well).
They friendly, attentive, and quick with service.
There lunch special is great for 7.95-8.95 you pick and appetizer and an Entree. Portions on the lunch special is just right it’s not a huge serving but it’s enough where I have felt not overly stuffed but nicely full.
We have enjoyed the wonderful taste of the following so far:
Appetizers:
Salad small but dressing was excellent I used what I had left on my basil rice.
Wings are very spicy but delicious.
Goza Cheese is crab meat with cheese. Excellent a must have.
Curry Puff
Entree:
Chicken Basil Rice, great taste I have it every time I go.
Chicken Pad Thai
Khan Pham Nuea Poo (Fried rice w/crabmeat)
Beef Pad Woon Sen (Wok-Fried noodle)
Dessert:
Fried Ice Cream- AMAZING
The only concern to keep in mind when visiting Kitchen 79 is that Parking can be difficult to find, my daughter and her friend had to give up on having dinner there one night after looking for parking for more than a half hour.
This hasn’t stopped me and the girls from enjoying Kitchen 79. If it’s early for lunch I drive. If it’s for dinner I cab it. We have enjoyed the great food at Kitchen 79 so much that we have returned 4 times in the last 2 weeks.

We ordered food before 8pm to pick up and went to the restuarant around 10pm to get the food. They charged us for all the items but gave wrong food. Nothing was done on their part even though they witness us opening each container to verify the items which we placed also we informed them verbally yet nothing was done except for saying sorry. Basically they gave us all chicken items even though we ordered 2 basil Thai fried rice with shrimps (for me & my friend who eat halal food only) and 2 drunken noodles with chicken (for my two friends who eats beef or chicken doesn't matter halal or not). Above $50 was a waste as they didn't make the food as requested which was Thai spicy and the food was blend. My first and last time there

Just visited and service was awful. Food was mediocre at best. They added on a 18% gratuity and did not bother to even check in once with us after serving us. There are much better thai restaurants in the area. Don’t waste your time here.

I used to like this place, however not anymore. Went in for take out last Friday, had to wait for 30 minutes, one of the staff was very rude and the food did not taste like it used to. Ordered chicken PadTai and found shrimp tail in it. I did not see a Health Department grade anywhere, so I asked about it and was told they have an A and that it was on the other side of the window - it was not there. I went on ABCEats to check their inspection results and the restaurant received 51 points on an ungraded inspection in October 2018. C grade is >28 points. Will keep checking to see if that changes for the graded inspection, but for now I will not not buy food there.

Tremendous lunch deal. My angel hair noodle dish with salad was less than $9. And, while the salad was nothing extraordinary, the main course was flavorful with a mix of fresh ingredients.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit ( again )
The food is outstanding and the staff is the best. I brought my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. We tried another restaurant that we also like, but because of a new grandson in a stroller they were unable to accomodate us. KITCHEN 79
had the perfect spot. I visit once a month, but we haven't been to K79 un 3 or 4 months. The staff remembered us and really made us feel at home. I am not a Thai expert, but I followed their recommendations and had a delicious meal. Go there !

My friend suggested this restaurant to celebrate his birthday. This was our first visit. We were pleasantly surprised! What we ordered was nice and spicy. Great sized portions. We had the Pla Muk Tord (calamari) appetizer...excellent and not chewy. Next time we're ordering two!! We also ordered the Peek Gai Mak Khamin Tord (chicken wings) which had a sweet heat taste...excellent! I was very skeptical about ordering the chicken at first because it's marinated in 'fish sauce'. Just the thought of it sounds gross to me. Guess what? I forgot all about it until I started writing this review. I was so impressed with the freshness and the tastiness of the food, I did not remember the wings being marinated in fish sauce. Well, apparently it was delicious because there was not fish taste in the wings. I took some home and finished it for lunch the next day . . . excellent, no fish taste. We're looking forward to going back again. Next he'll have the red snapper and I'll order the duck! Definitely having the calamari and the wings!! Bon appetite!!

I stopped in because of the lunch special of an app and dish for $7.50. There several apps and triple the amount of dish to pick from. I chose the curry puff and chicken khao phad. I was able to also get happy hour mimosa for $5.00 bucks. The service was spot on and friendly. I look forward to returning soon!

Don't believe me? Just check out all their reviews and accolades and then try it for yourself. The staff here is amazing and do their best to accommodate tastes. No spicy? No problem! Burn your tongue off - sure, here's a spice tray to put on as much as you want! The soft-shell crab is one of my personal favorites and their selection of appetizers are great! Fresh spring rolls (wish Shrimp if you ask nicely), crispy calamari, fried or steamed dumplings, guay hor cheese (cream cheese dumplings - my favorite), etc. Since they opened, I've gotten to know the owners, Rudee and Vi and both are warm and welcoming! They love their customers and it shows in both their food and service! Best value in JH!

It was my third visit in this restaurant already and I really enjoyed all of the visits.
The waiters are really nice and the restaurant is cozy. My food was delicious and I can recommend this place if you look for good Thai food.
