My family and I came here at buffet time. We got palak paneer, tandoori chicken, roti, mixed vegetables, and goat curry. The palak paneer was churned with sand. Literally...SAND!!! It left an awful feeling in my mouth and I was two steps away from puking. The mixed vegetables were laced with sugar. What if someone is allergic or sensitive to... More

I have been on a search for a great Indian restaurant and kept asking all of my Indian friends and coworkers where I can find one. Everyone kept mentioning this place and so I had to try it. My boyfriend and I went to Jackson Dinner early on a friday night and were surprised to find the place mearly empty... More

I've been here a couple of times, once for the buffet and the rest for a sit down. Both time the food was very good. The service is a good too. I really remember being blown away by the chick peas and the curry! I love to take friends here who visit from outside Jackson Heights and always ask me... More

Perhaps by Indian and desi-South Asian standards, perhaps this place is for amatures -- well I beg to differ. I remember when Jackson Diner was actually a small eat-in/take-out on a side street on 73rd Str. and the food was always very good back in the mid to late 80's before they want big on 74th Str. at it's present... We are fond of Indian food and were not disappointed when we visited the Jackson Diner. The premises are large and the decor definitely old-style with low lighting. We ate here twice and found both the chicken curry and the mixed tandoori delicious and delicately spiced. The staff were quiet and courteous and we thought the food was reasonably priced.... More

We were visiting Jackson Heights in Queens, NY, and decided to give this diner a try for Indian food. The buffet spread had both Veg and Non-Veg varieties. The Goat meat curry was quite good, but all else was pretty average. Masala Dosa was a bonus for the buffet, so we ordered, but it took a long time to come,... More

This restaurant has been included in the NYT in the past. Although a little worn out, the food continues to be great. During the day you can treat yourself to a lunch buffet and try different kinds of curries and spices!

In the past I have only been there for the lunch buffet which is inexpensive and varied and fast and convenient. This is the first time I've ever ordered off the menu. Luckily we were 3 people so we could get enough variety. To start they bring papadam and a variety of chutnies to the table. For appetizer we had... More
