The chef/s at this gourmet mexican bistro outdo themselves with specials and regular menus alike. Each day they offer a salsa of the day - roasted tomato or green salsa are particularly savory. Their chips are fresh and crispy. And for vegetarians they offer a wonderfully flavorful black bean burger. Outdoor seating is great. Excellent micro beer menu! Don't miss... More

Off the beaten path for its location which is neither Collegetown nor downtown Ithaca, but has an upscale decor (for a college town) and menu beyond Mexican (burgers and flatbread pizzas). Very good place.

Decided to come here for dinner one night due to staying in the local area. Staff were great and advised us to book a table for that evening, as they get a high number of walk-ins and seat guests on a first come first served basis. They had our table waiting for us when we got there, and we're all... More

Agava offers great local food. Everything is sourced locally and the Flatbreads are delicious. I also appreciate the decor, definitely appropriate for couples and friends hangout.

The three of us started with excellent guacamole and chips. We all enjoyed our mains. Mine was a "Crabbie" - a crab cake on a buttery toasted sesame seed bun with lettuce, tomato, and aioli - delicious! It came with a house salad (my choice instead of fries). I was intrigued by the unusual selection of non-alcoholic beverages and got... More

While visiting Ithaca, NY there are many options for dining in the downtown area. Since we have a younger child, we wanted to avoid some of the hustle and bustle of downtown, but enjoy some good local fare. We were very pleased to find this in Agava! To be honest, pulling up to the restaurant I wasn't sure what to... More

This is our absolute favorite place to go. It is worth it just for the margaritas. Everything I have eaten there has been amazing and it has a wonderful atmosphere. I prefer dinner over brunch, brunch menu could use some vamping up! Dinner specials are ALWAYS worth getting.

My boyfriend and I NEVER complain while at restaurants, but in this pretty much dead dining room we waited 45 minutes to get our eggs. I understand this sometimes happen as I'm a waitress myself, but the server failed to acknowledge us the entire time we were waiting, didn't come to check on us or explain the situation. When this... We've eaten here 4 or 5 times... Every time is beyond expectations. Highlights are flatbreads, roasted veggies small plates, the agava burger, the beer and wine list....

Sat in the bar area, which was a nicer seating experience than most restaurant bars. I was a little underwhelmed by the draft beer choices, but the liquor selection was nice. I ended up ordering an Agava Burger cooked medium. The restaurant was busy, so the delay we experienced in receiving the food wasn't unexpected. The food arrived and the... More
