Ithaca's food scene is not what they promise it is when you apply to Cornell. I was given comparisons to NYC...that is definitely not the case. If you're visiting you should do the drive out to Agava. No, it's not on the commons, but it's...More

Food is okay, nothing special. Interesting drinks and beers. Service is awful, way beyond relaxed. Appetizer never showed up and the meal was so delayed that we didn’t care. Go to Purity for dessert as those selections are not interesting.

We went to Agava for my daughters graduation from Cornell. First off when the restaurant called to confirm they didn’t tell me it was a pri-fixed menu. The service was terrible. Took a long time to take our order and then even longer to get...More

My hubby and I went for brunch. We've been a few times before. They get very busy, so we went early. It was a cold day and the restaurant was freezing. Most people had their coats on while eating. I have to say this visit...More

On a wine tour with mom and sister. First they brought out mini biscuits with house made raspberry jam and banana bread. AWESOME!!!! We had daily enchiladas (vege, mushroom with sunny eggs on top), daily quesadilla (bacon, duck confit) and huevos rancheros. All really delicious....More

We went here 2 nights in a row. 1st night we stumbled on this place by accident. What a piece of luck. After booking a table we had a wonderful meal. Not flash but excellent food. Flat bread and tacos. Server was excellent. Atmosphere great....More

It was a college revisit weekend, so it was VERY crowded and VERY loud. That said, our reservation was honored with a short wait and our server Angelica made the difference - she was incredibly helpful with the menu and honest about the back-up in...More

I visit the area periodically, and tend to go to the same few restaurants. Someone recommended this one, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the food, the variety and uniqueness of the cocktail menu, and the knowledge of our server....More

Very tasty and fabulous! I love their brunch so much more than any other meals...they have the standard fare with some interesting spins on old favorites. Great breakfast drink menu. Excellent touches to make it more fancy and nice, the butter, toppings on your pancakes,...More

Description
The AGAVA restaurant concept is rooted in local, farm-to-table cuisine, seasonal menu and a Southwest-Inspired palette. One of the central design and functional elements is a wood-fired oven with eating bar in the main dining space, serving up flatbreads and a range of other fire-roasted cuisine. Our bar is destination of its own; from the unique spirits & cocktails, to an environment and space you have to see for yourself. We feature one of the most unique interior spaces in the central NY region, drawing from both southwestern design elements like “latillas’ as well as local historical features like reclaimed barn wood. We’re based in the old East Ithaca Train Station, commissioned in 1876 by Ezra Cornell.
