A group of us were looking for a good spot to have some drinks and a satisfying dinner. We had heard about this restaurant and thought we would give it a try. Margaritas started things off right (note well--- some are made with a mix, some are really made with lime juice and you have to ask for the real... More

This restaurant has declined in maintenance, the rest rooms aren't kept clean. At 6pm they were already dirty. The door to the kitchen where the wait staff passes with your food is covered with great clumps of dirt & dust Service was extremely rushed, half the table were empty, but the waiter seemed like he couldn't wait to run away... It was a friends birthday and we had a upstairs separate room for privacy. Live music was heard muffed in our room. Family style menu was served and the food was good. Still looking for an authentic Mexican meal, not Tex Mex or American version of a cultures food.

What a wonderful place! We stopped in at happy hour at the bar and had the absolute best Patron margaritas ever....ordered nachos...which were to die for...and the Mignon Poblano. The bartender highly recommended it and it was the best steak smothered in an incredible sauce. They gave us free appetizers of potato taquitos and a lovely light desert of a... More

Bad service, bad food. Had to ask 5 times for a glass of water. Begged for a dessert menu. It was a birthday celebration! They finally brought one but never came back to take the order!!!!! Choose another!

There are several Mexican restaurants in a less than a one mile radius in this town, try this one! Attentive staff,, delicious food, reasonable prices. Living in this town for over 50 years, I have seen this restaurant start out as a fun bar in the 70's, then become a diner, then be transformed into this cool restaurant. Dessert is... More

The taco sampler is a great deal... plentiful worth lots of choices. Stuffed poblano pepper was also a nice find. Yummy.

We are new to the area and found Quetzalcoati. Great service, atmosphere, Food and for all this it's priced right. So why am I not happy. My husband and I stopped in on our way back from the city one afternoon for lunch. It was early and we were the only table taken. So it was slow. Our bill was... More

By 1994 after some years in the USA, we felt (with all due respect) that good and authentic Mexican food was missing from most Mexican restaurants at the time. If we wanted to eat good Mexican food, we had to travel far from the Huntington area, so we decided to open a very small restaurant in East Northport, The lil Caboose. In 1995, The lil Caboose, was awarded as one of "The Top Ten Restaurants Of Long Island", by Newsday. By the end of 1996, with the support of our clientele, we opened the Oaxaca restaurant in Huntington village, where we once again found ourselves the happy recipients of an award, this time as one of Newsday's "The Best Top Ten List Of 1997." We settled in Huntington with Oaxaca for ten years, enjoying customers from all over Long Island. Our local Huntington clientele was growing in great numbers, so we felt it was time to expand. During this time, school teachers invited us to give important lectures in their schools on Mexican food and culture. We really enjoyed sharing our knowledge with the community. For these main reasons, we decided to open Quetzalcoatl, our full scale restaurant, where we offer a richer variety of Mexican dishes and a full bar to allow guests to sample delicious Mexican cocktails prepared the proper way. The name Quetzalcoatl was chosen with much thought to its meaning and philosophy. Taken from pre-Hispanic history and culture, the idea of "serving food for spirit" is at the soul of our business. The native Mexican philosophy of respect for food/body combined with gratitude in all activities is part of our daily life. Since "we are what we think and what we eat" we serve food for the soul, from the heart of Mexico! Buen apetito and muchas gracias!
