ate here a few times. Staff were very helpful ... food was good and very affordable. The chips are also proper chips cut from potatoes not frozen... yes it does make a difference. Will be back whenever I happen to be in Bakau but would recommend you give it a try

I like it here. Very friendly staff. The food is good and they cook it just how you want it. Just buy a drink and you have a sun bed for the day. You can eat inside or outside. A lot of locals use it so it cant be bad.

Lovely little bar hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the hotels! We only stayed for a drink, but I've heard food is good and reasonably priced, with takeaway an option. You can access this bar either by walking along from Ocean Bay Hotel Beach, or along Kofi Annan Street. It's nice to know this bar has been set... More

The Sunshine Bar is a proper taste of the Gambia. The food is good, Lamin the chef prepares a freshly cooked lovely meal. The staff are friendly, and the ambiance is chilled. It's in a sheltered spot so and not many beach trader's! I happily spend the day there whilst the other half goes off fishing. It's also cheap drinking!... More

So many bumsters strongly recommend this place , we thought they must have shares in it . This looks like a nice little beach bar tucked away along the point from the beach or down a longish windy track from the road. Once there you realise the big attraction, it's remote location . inside there are large signs painted on... More

This could be a fantastic little bar however sunshine bar and the stables opposite choose to employ a local drug dealer / psychotic / alcoholic / bumster called Eddie/Apache or whatever name he uses to con tourists out of money. When I refused to hand over more money he threatened me in front of my son and told me I... More

We stumbled into the Sunshine Beach Bar trying to find our way to the crocodile park via the beach. Really chilled bar. Good food and drinks selection. The service was very friendly and efficient. It was a relief to find friendly and efficient service after having such bad service in the 5 star up the beach. Because they were such... More

Hidden from the high road of Cape Point a truly local place where Gambian youngsters gather to chat, eat, drink ( mainly non-alcoholic drinks :) rest, play sports, organise reggae parties and just generally to relax. Very friendly and attentive staff that remembered me after 6 months :) Find yourselves a sun bed in the shade, exhale and "take it... More

Brilliant, you get a real sense of Gambia in this place, eaten here on a few occasions and the locals look after you.
