The venerable Glen Haven Hotel--which of course isn't a hotel--is under new management, but just barely. High tops in the bar, music on the covered deck, a SEVERELY limited menu, and newbie staff await the hungry diner. My advice: BYOF (Bring Your Own Food and maybe Beverages) unless you can figure out how to eat the incomparable view.

We try to get to the Glen Haven once a summer. The food isn't spectacular but it's decent and not expensive. Portions are slightly on the small side but that's to be expected with entrees, which include salad, under $20. We usually have the deviled steak, which is delicious. On our most recent visit, my husband had salmon, my son... More

Our friends and family make it a point to visit the Glen Haven Hotel once a summer season to enjoy the atmosphere. Last year on our visit, we only ordered appetizers and drinks and were told for that reason, we would not be able to sit inside. It was chilly, so we ordered quickly ate and left. Nothing stands out... More

I took my family for an informal reunion dinner. We visit the Glen Haven in the summer when our family is in town all together. We sat at our table and had to remind the wait staff that we had not seen our server. We finally got water from the hostess .she said that she would find our waiter. 30... More

You must go, and try the deviled steak! If possible, go by boat and enjoy the ride and scenery. we go every year at least once.

The Glen Haven is a lovely restaurant at the end of Skaneateles Lake. Reservations are a must and they do not accept credit cards. There is an ATM machine on site. You can get there by boat but it can be shallow at times, so you need to watch your approach a bit. The duck strips appetizer is amazing! Ribeye... More

Just off the south end of Skaneateles Lake there is usually a cool breeze that makes dining out on the porch really nice on a hot summer day. The food is very flavorful and the chef puts together some unexpected combinations. The cranberry pecan crusted chicken tasted great - even though the chicken was slightly over-cooked. Our waitress was excellent... More

I've been here before for dinner, and the relaxed ambience on the porch has a most welcome casual feel. Staff is very nice. My Virgin Mary was average. However, the food was very disappointing. I had the $28. cherry cabernet lambchops with garlic mashed potatoes and a caesar salad. The potatoes and salad were average, and the lambchops were the... More

We have not been to the Glen Haven in many years. Visited recently. Has definitely gone "DOWNHILL". Portions were "very small" while prices were high for a country inn in this area. The building appears to be in a state of disrepair. The Veal Marsala was tasteless. The sauce was watery without a hint of wine. Good mushrooms though. The... More

I have gone to this restaurant for 24 years. It has always been a highlight of the summer, and i've been looking forward to this dinner for the past 2 weeks. Tonight I had the most disappointing dinner. The shrimp appetizer was sub-par. I ordered their specialty pecan-cranberry chicken; had I cooked it myself I would have considered it a... More
