Went with the family to celebrate special happy 21st birthday! Made reservations 3 weeks in advance and was running late due to NY traffic coming 1 1/2 hour away. Made curtesy call to the restaurant Mt Fuji informing about our group was running late on...a way there. Manager Adrien was very obnoxious, disrespectful and said he cannot hold the table unless we arrive on time. When we asked for late arrival policy - got no answer as there were none in place. On arrival we settled at the bar after checked in after we were given a buzzer. Everyone settled with the drinks by the bar while waiting. 1 hour past. We wanted to go check on how much more time do we need to wait. Went with the family to celebrate special happy 21st birthday! When we asked how long more we should wait for: he was walking away. Manager Adrien was very rude and yelled at our grandfather for asking questions… Restaurant been under a new ownership and not as it used to be as far as coming to a warm atmosphere to enjoy your family group and have a good time worry free… The worse experience each of us ever had. This restaurant used to be a Gem, we would never go visit and would not recommend to anyone to get your special day ruin….More

We have been going to Mt. Fuji for a very long time (for at least the last 20 years). The last time we where there, we said that the place was going to need a complete re-do and some TLC. Well, we ate a late...lunch there yesterday and were we surprised!! The restaurant, hibachi tables, bar, sushi bar, wedding areas and bathrooms were ALL completely refurbished and absolutely gorgeous!! Outstanding job Mt. Fuji!! We will be back sooner than later. Thank you for a great experience!! P.S. Make a reservation before going (we only waited 15 minutes but, it will make things a little easier).More

This place has the worst welcoming/costumer service. I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance for a party of 10 people for my son’s birthday party. After arriving, the manager who’s name was Adrian was very rude. He kept pointing at his watch and telling...me that we were late and he couldn’t accommodate us anymore. In order to get a table, We’ll have to wait until 8:30. He didn’t have any consideration. He was so rude and disrespectful, telling me that it was my fault for being late. Definitely not going back to Mt. Fuji any more 😞.More

On New Year's Eve my Japanese daughter-in-law took my husband and I to Mt. Fuji restaurant in Hillburn, NY. The seven of us enjoyed a hibachi style dinner including steak, shrimp and scallops. The server was an amazing performer who joked, sang and allowed my...grandchildren to participate in the hijinks. We intend to come again when it’s less cloudy so we can enjoy the magnificent grounds.More

And now, after we have been living in Brooklyn, we...decided to visit it. I hated it from the first step we did!!!!!! There was smoke all over from hibachi and all your clothe, hair, everything immediately started to stink!!!!! They have very small menu but waiter said they can make any rolls we want. Half of them they did not have ingredients and the other half they did not know how to make🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I took lobster hibachi and my husband-steak hibachi. Also we asked about sashimi. The food was DISGUSTING!!!!! NOT FRESH!!! We had hour and half to drive back go Brooklyn and my stomach started to burn same as my husband felt uncomfortable with his stomach! I started to feel nauseate and the restaurant smell that was coming from my clothe made it worth! Right now is 4.26 am and we were not sleeping all night, vomiting and diarrhea! I have been living in NY for 15 years and THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I ever went!!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I had to take all my clothes right away and wash it! PEOPLE!!! Dont go there!!!! They will poison you!!!! We took my 13-year-old for his birthday. The food is excellent, and the hibachi chefs are so much fun. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. We were very satisfied. The cost is worth it as you really get dinner and a show.

We came here for my birthday after I constantly pondered about this landmark for over twenty (20) years. This restaurant was always very noticeable from the highway. The hours of this establishment were not very common hours of operation, so a person should look up...the hours of operation before he or she makes any plans. On the weekdays, Mount Fuji opened at 5:00 PM, and we made a reservation. The parking lot was enormous. The restaurant was located on a huge and hilly estate right off of Interstate 87 and Route 17. The circuitous road to the top of the restaurant had many hairpin turns, and the views of the mountains were amazing! I loved the foliage changes that surrounded this restaurant. There were nice gardens, pagodas, and lion statues which were very scenic. I felt that the hostess was not the friendliest, but she had a small impact on my evening. We had to grab a small machine which vibrated when it was our turn to be seated. The hibachi consisted of my family and some other family; we could not get our own hibachi. The other guests were also amicable. We loved the show, the enthusiasm, and the energy of Katty. Katty made delicious food and she was extremely friendly. I loved the chicken, the shrimp, the vegetables, the soup, the salad, the fried rice, and the noodles. My meal was reasonably priced at twenty-five dollars ($25.00) plus tax and tip; the portions were huge! Hannah was also very accommodating throughout my experience at Mount Fuji. I would definitely come to this restaurant again, but I would reserve this location for a more special occasion.More

I wa there many years ago when this was Gasho and it was a more dignified experience. This is like Coney Island with mobs of people in shorts and tee shorts screaming...The decibel was as unbearable as the food which managed to be stale even...though it was cooked in front of you. Servers screaming Banzai! Huge dragon heads for birthday extra $5 added to the garish experience. NEVER AGAIN. This was the nadir. A beautiful mountaintop defaced.More

We arrived late because we got lost thanks to gps. The host was very accommodating. It is Hibachi style restaurant and we rounded up the party to make 6. The chef was entertaining and professional. The food was delicious and fresh. It was our anniversary...so the dragon entertained us and we were instructed to blow out the candle. Although the venue has been there for several years the restaurant looks new. The lady’s room is modern and clean. I highly recommend this place for couples, family and friends.More

Went for a birthday and arrived early. You have to share a table and the party we shared the table with arrived late and we’re seated first getting the better seats and better view. They knew the other part had a birthday but no clue...that we did. Just so disappointed I wanted the birthday person to have a nice time and they obviously didn’t give a crap!!! Never againMore

My family and I went to celebrate a milestone birthday. The service and treatment were terrible. Took over ONE hour to get a glass of water to the tables. the food was tasteless and overall just terrible; was brought the check without asking for dessert...and then told there was no dessert. Was looking forward to a nice outing with my family and expected much more for the price. Very disappointed- just hope this review helps others make the right choice. trust me, go elsewhere!More

I have been a patron of this establishment for decades and have only had great things to say about them. I raved about the dining experience to friends from out of town, and decided to make a reservation to bring them myself while they were...in town for a long weekend. I made a reservation weeks in advance. When I called Mt. Fuji on the day-of to confirm the reservation, I was greeted with outright hostility. The manager not only lost the reservation, but he treated me and my guests horribly over the phone as we sought to understand what went wrong. The manager shouted at us several times (as we maintained calm demeanors), spoke over us, called us liars... and that's just the beginning. It was absolutely uncalled for and was the worst treatment I have ever received from a restaurant manager. I am VERY disappointed. Sad to say he has lost the business of a long time customer.More
