This was our first stop on our wine trail. We ordered a late lunch-cup of artichoke soup each and split a meat and cheese platter and enjoyed our food outside on the deck overlooking the beautiful views. We then did a wine tasting and ended up buying a couple of bottles of wine. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.... More

Several other winery operator suggested this as a good place for lunch. When we walked in, it seemed more for wine tasting, but we were assisted at the counter with a limited lunch menu. They seem to specialize in Grilled Cheese, which seemed odd. We did order a wine and cheese plate, also, that came with a wide variety of... More

We had been here years ago, and we had thought it was the best winery in the Finger Lakes region. We were very much looking to return, especially as were also hungry and knew they had added a "bistro". As soon as I walked in, I knew I would not be eating there. It was not a bistro, it was... More

We did a wine tasting tour on Saturday visiting 5 vineyards. Yesterday we took a ride to Red Newt. This was our favorite. The wine educator, sorry I can't remember his name, was awesome. We paid $5 for 6 samplings but he threw in 3 others and no additional cost. After the tasting we had lunch on the deck. Beautiful... More

We planned our day to end up at Red Newt because we heard about it after reading the book Summer in a Glass. After the pourer noticed our Weekday Wine Pass he said they NEVER have participated in the Wine Trail in over 10 years. Well!!! We read reviews before about their prices and we agree that seeing that $12.00... More

The grilled cheese and homemade tomato soup was to die for. I had a glass of cab franc to go with it and it was very good. I would definitely go here again!-

Try the toasted cheese with meat loaf. The soups are always a treat as well. Combine that with the very good wine at Red Bewt and you have a winner.

We stopped here for lunch while visiting some wineries. We didn't do a tasting because we had too much wine at that point, but we ordered some soup and sandwiches. I got the special grilled cheese which had chicken, cheese, peanut sauce, and apples. Initially it sounds like an odd flavor combo but it was actually very delicious and filling.... More

This was one of the better wineries that we went to in the Fingers Lake. It was very busy but we were able to do a tasting. The winery was really lovely but the wines were just ok.

One of my favorite wineries. The tasting room also has a small bistro. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Their Circle Riesling is outstanding and is a constant on our wine buy list.

The Red Newt Bistro is a great place to stop for lunch while in the Finger Lakes. We continue a decades long tradition of working closely with local farmers to offer fresh and delicious local fare. Quick service and simple, delicious food sourced from Finger Lakes farms is the perfect complement to a glass of wine on our deck.
