This is an old fashioned Kosher Deli/Restaurant reminiscent of the late 50's early 60's. Pastrami is somewhat disappointing. Hot dogs, French fries and matzo ball soup are good. Corned beef and brisket are good but not great. Seating is a bit cramped. Some of the servers are ancient but competent.

You can't go wrong with a hot pastrami on rye at Epstein's. The pastrami is lean and flavorful, the sandwich is a meal, and comes with their famous pickles and cole slaw. We go every January 14th to celebrate National Hot Pastrami Day, and many times throughout the year. Their hot dogs are the best and the fries are thick... More

I've been coming to Epstein's for decades. Since he was on Jerome Ave. I remember Sol sitting in the back. Sadly he's no longer with us. But his restaurant, food, and ambiance still are. The only thing that is different are the prices. I've never heard anyone complain about the food. It's comforting food and to know there is a... More

I visit Westchester about once every two years and make sure to stop into Epstein's for a sandwich each time. The food is consistently good and nothing seems to have changed over the years. We ordered pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, and made sure that there were a few fatty slices included (Order "lean" deli anywhere, and you are sure... More

Epstein's has been a fixture on Central Avenue for many years. It always offers delicious deli fare---with a huge menu to choose from. It has an old fashioned charm with music from the 1960's and l970s and dishes that have been staples for many years. The service is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. Prices are very reasonable.

Epstein's has always been a favorite of mine for take-out lunch & dinner. Service with a smile always, high price point, but oh so worth it. I've never been disappointed with anything I've every ordered. I will sometime experiment with items I've never tried & although it may not always be to my particular taste, the quality is always there.... More

Epsteins is my go to for a good bowl of matzoh ball soup and half a corned beef on rye sandwich. I have been coming for years. The same lovely waitresses have been there forever treating me like family.

I stopped in yesterday and I explained to the manager had disappointed I was with the pastrami a few months ago. He sure did make it up to me yesterday. I put my pastrami sandwich on rye home and it was absolutely delicious. :) Good job!

Went here for what was billed as old style kosher deli. Nothing about the place was good. The chopped liver was inedible-we sent it back. The corned beef was tasteless and stringy.

Epstein's is one of the last of the "old style deli's"and still offers great overstuffed sandwiches. I love dropping by on my way home from work to get a kosher frank with onions! It's still one of the great edible treats and worth the little indigestion !
