Food is good. Atmosphere is good. Caesar sprouts are very good. Server was very good. They weren’t busy at all.

Loved everything we had, loved the outdoor seating. Had the Spring Forward cocktail, absolutely loved it. And if you’ve never tried shakshuka , theirs is done with a curry and is my favorite I’ve ever had.
We had dinner indoors. While some photos show a bright white atmosphere, the evening ambiance is moderately lit and cozy/comfortable. The 4 of us had very good meals. With shared appetizers and main courses that made a lot of sense. The lamb shank is noteworthy....Wines by the glass satisfied everyone's need so pair (rose, white, red). The service was friendly and helpful with comments and suggestions on choices. Our experience confirmed a prior visit two of us had for lunch. Quality food is offered here in a comfortable environment.More
As the title says, only one meal out of three was very good. The mussels appetizer was very good. The "AB Hamburger" was a bit above average, but didn't quite make it to very good. Meatballs were interesting, but also didn't make it to very...good. The only drink we ordered was a coke. I got a small glass filled with ice and maybe 3 ounces of drink. I was going to order another, without ice, but our waitress neither asked if I wanted another drink nor cleared the empty glass from the table. The atmosphere was lively and the space we finally wound up in was attractive. However, the hostess wanted to seat us at a table next to a service hallway the looked very unattractive and also away from the pretty decor. After we let them know we were not going to sit there, they found a better table for us. Take the online web menu as a rough guide only. That menu listed whole Branzino and Duck Leg Confit. The printed menu we received at the restaurant had only 6 entrees listed, none of which were Branzino or duck. Greenport is a fun town and we'll probably try some of the other restaurants before returning to American Beech.More
Terrible cocktails - could tell bartenders disengaged. Food was not consistent with menu description and poorly executed. Cauliflower appetizer essentially head of raw vegetable. Meatballs with zucchini noodles - yikes!! Meatballs that were dried out and old tasting and tasted like falafel. These on top...of zucchini noodles with red sauce and slathered with “ricotta.” Really bad. Nothing good about this restaurant. Used to enjoy tremendously for many years. Need a new chef and new bartenders. Complete disaster.More
American Beech is one of out favorite Greenport spots for drinks and dinner. The outdoor area is a fun venue with comfy couches, tropical decor and rattan chairs. When we are dining elsewhere, thus is stillout go to place for pre/dinner drinks.
We just came back from a long MDW stay for our anniversary. Couldn’t say enough about how great the staff was. Hotel is very clean. Great restaurant and lounge. We can’t wait to come back!
We always enjoy dinner or drinks at American Beech. It’s chic, trendy and a fun spot to unwind. The dinner menu has small plates, seafood. Meat and vegetable dishes. The decor is tropical and you truly feel swept away to an exotic location. Last night,...we had dinner here. We tried the tuna wrapped in prosciutto—not a fan. The other dishes-oysters, and lobster rolls were perfect. The lounge area for drinks is always a good spot for before or after dinner drinks.More
NEVER EATING HERE AGAIN! We go to North Fork every year and we always stop at American Beech. In the past the staff has been wonderful but last night that was not the case! Four of us had dinner outside and my husband ordered the...burger, he requested it be cooked medium rare and our waiter said it couldn't be done. We also requested no trout roe on a flatbread appetizer and again was told it couldn't be done which didn't make any sense. The waiter told us that the chef is a "jerk" and very particular and won't accommodate any special requests, basically you get what you get when it comes to the food. After dinner we ordered a round of drinks and before we got our drinks we were asked to leave the table and sit elsewhere because they needed the table for more diners. We got up and went to sit somewhere else but there was no where to sit. Finally they put us in a beach pod, which was comfortable but we were forgotten about for so long (almost 1 hour) I had to walk over and find someone so we could get service. There were two guys sitting across from us that were eating food they ordered to go and having drinks and they were asked to leave and eat the food they ordered from the restaurant somewhere else. I understand everything is a bit out of sorts because of COVID but this was different. I don't know what is going on with the staff at American Beech but we will not be returning. We felt unwelcome and were not treated well and we spent over $500 there so apparently they don't care about their customers and in turn we will no longer be caring about them! If you want good service and the ability to order your food how you like it then do not go here.More
My family and I booked this hotel last minute for a funeral. Turns out the faucet in the bathroom was broken and coming off the wall. Went to use the shower and the water was coming out from between the shower door and threshold. Didn’t...want to use it for fear of flooding the bathroom. Tried to call emergency help, but never got a response until the following day. They claimed it was working fine. Front desk was of no help. I asked to speak to the owner but they said they were difficult to get in touch with. 2 months later and still can’t speak to the owner.More
I love this cul de sack of shops and restaurants/bars in Greenport It is a really cool place to hang out for the evening on the weekends. I came here for New Years a few years back we had a blast. I really don't love...the food though. I'm over the pretzle roll on hamburgers it is so hard to swallow I almost choked on it. I love pretzels not with meat in them. But I have to say that bar none this establishment has the best and very well trained profesional staff. They are friendly, they are attentive and happy to serve. This to me makes for a pleasant memorable experience in my book. So the food is just OK.... bar/restaurant is really nice all year round. Maybe they can work on improving the food anyway I will come back there again and again because I know I will have a good time here with my friends regardless. Cheers!!More
If you want a restful trip this is not the place tor you. The rooms are nice and the staff is helpful. That being said, the rooms are all directly above either a restaurant or a bar/club. I’ve been in two rooms now... and they...both vibrate with the bass of the music plying below is. It’s one thing during the day but at midnight it’s not great. When I mentioned to management they said the website describes the rooms as noisy. I can’t find that warning.More
We had a girls day out in Greenport and started here for brunch. No complaints! Food was great and atmosphere was even better! Absolutely love the decor of this place! Would love to go back and stay in the hotel! A def must stop while...in Greenport even if just for drinks!More
Average restaurant, overpriced. Stay away from the fried chicken! It's dry and tasteless, maybe because they pre-cooke it and then fry it when you order.
Come here to have a laid back days of drinks with friends. Good service with quality drinks. Bartenders are quick and make on point drinks not to weak not to strong way a drink should be served. If I’m in greenport this is where I...stop for good drinks and good vibe of music.More
