We've been here once before and came back. We long ago discovered beef on a Kimmelweck. We'd been in downtown Buffalo on our boat prior to this and had one at Ulrich's which was just ok. We asked this waitress about there's which was listed as award winning. She said they were excellent and said we could get it medium... More

Has a lot of potential. The frozen vegetables were a turn off and the steak could have a used a specialty sauce. Food was cooked well though and the staff were pleasant.

I am sorry that your meal was just "okay". Our goal is to have everyone leave with a great culinary experience. As for the vegetables, we always use fresh for service, and only when we run out do we rely on a backup frozen vegetable. We hope you come back again and have the experience that we aim for! Thank... Love this little restaurant and look forward each year to have lunch after a day of fishing nearby. Everything is sourced locally when possible and made from scratch. Great soup and cannot say enough about the meals. Fish fry on Wednesday and Friday is not to be missed. Small bar area with a handful of good draft choices adds to... More

Thank you so much for the kind review. We love when our customers appreciate the efforts we put into our business to make it feel like home! Our staff is like a family. And when Mike Carr started this restaurant his vision was to create a restaurant with meals just like he had with his mother and grandmother. We make... More

Who would think pulling up to this renovated house restaurant you would find this gem. Comfy. Good food. The desserts....to die for. All homemade. Obit reason not 5 star is very small, slow. Service but worth the wait.

Thank you for your kind review, we appreciate your feedback! Yes we are a little on the small side, but that's what makes us quaint. I apologize for slow service, that's not usually how we are. But we will address that. We hope to see you again soon :) More

What a fun, enjoyable place to have a meal! Being local, we've been there many times. Excellent selection of high quality foods, from sandwiches to fish fries to full dinners, that are sure to leave tummies happy and satisfied. Everything on the menu is good, but special mention goes to the daily selections of wonderful homemade soups (especially the lemon... More

We have strange work schedules so Wednesday is our "Friday." We hardly ever go anywhere else. Soups are awesome, specials are creative and desserts are to die for.

actually, a few months ago, a few things went awry here and although we know the management from long patronage, we filed a slightly "down" review... musta been a bad night, as this time, everything was splendid, even with the place jammed and we reservationless on a Saturday night, how foolish of us... great tacos, sandwiches and an extraordinary Cajun... This is the 2nd time I have ordered take-out from this restaurant (LARGE orders) and everything was delicious! The orders were correct also (no missing sides, and they deliver on special requests like no mayo, side of blue cheese, etc that most places forget). The employees even helped me carry my order out to the car! The lemon pepper tabasco... More

Needed a place to meet friends for lunch. Wife found the advertisement in the news. Online reviews were very positive (and correct) Unless you go to Beaver Island Beach, this place will be hard to find. As the subject line says, there is no village there But you should not be disappointed. A very complete menu. We were there for... More

Thank you for your interest in our restaurant! The name, The Village inn was a name Mike Carrs father came up with when he opened. And although it's a small neighborhood, it is called Ferry Village. Before the bridges the Ferry would dock just up the road.. It is one of the historic neighborhoods on the island! As for the... More

Description
The Village Inn is located in the historic Ferry Village in Grand Island, New York. Its quaint, homelike atmosphere and close proximity to the Niagara River make this restaurant a popular meeting place for locals, as well as for those visiting off island. In 1988, owner Michael Carr took over The Village Inn that was previously named Lippens Grill. He changed the name to The Village Inn, which was inspired by his father. With the help of his friends and family, he renovated this 1890's building to make it the cozy eatery that it is today. At The Village Inn, we pride ourselves on creating all of our food from scratch. We are best known for our unique, culinarily adventurous soups as well as baking all of our desserts in house from homemade recipes. From our moist and sweet bread puddings to our spicy lemon tabasco clam chowder, we strive to please all taste buds. The Village Inn has customers from all over the area that come in to experience this one of a kind restaurant. You are sure to enjoy your meal served by our light-hearted, welcoming wait staff while engaging in our distinctive dining atmosphere. All of us at The Village Inn are looking forward to your dining with us while experiencing our historic niche in Ferry Village.
