Pretty good

Went here for a birthday celebration lunch on a Tuesday. The Bells is one of those places which, although looks like a pub, is really more of a restaurant. Lots of tables available and on our visit quite a few were in use, so busy for a Tuesday. Three real ales available, which is a plus. We... read more

We went to The Bells for the first time after looking at the reviews on Trip Advisor. The reviews were certainly not wrong. We had a lovely welcome, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the service was excellent. The food, 3 roasts, 1 of lamb, 1 of beef, and one of chicken, even though it wasn't on the menu,... More

Eaten here recently at lunchtime and been in a few times before for a drink during the summer and it's an nice little boozer with good honest pub food. They have a good selection of specials and the pub classics, ham egg chips , burgers etc. are all of a very good standard- quality ingredients, nicely presented and friendly and... More

Had a number of people invited for drinks to celebrate three of us retiring. The manager and staff could not do enough to accommodate us, bearing in mind we had been let down by another place which was closing down just a few days before! Had use of the stable bar, very efficient way of dealing with a tab. Although... More

We have visited this Pub/ Restaurant on quite a few occasions now and I must say the food on every occasion was great. We even went for a Sunday lunch and believe me I've tried some fine restaurant's all over the U.K. and the world. This place with out doubt served us the best Sunday lunch that we've had outside... Popped into the Bells pub on Saturday for lunch on the 19th December with my wife whilst we were out Xmas shopping. We had come into town by bus so it was nice to be able to have a couple of drinks as well with our food. There is a good menu to choose from plus a large selection of... More

I had never been to The Bells before, but the menu looked nice and it was close to work. I didn't have very high hopes for eating the Christmas menu at this time of year and with so many large parties to serve. However the food was amazing! I had sticky plum duck leg to start, it was the best... More
