We have visited this restaurant a few times and it's always been excellent and tasty food. The service is excellent and the quality is exceptional. We don't live local but will be back very soon. If your in Staines your be crazy not to visit

I have to say, 6 months ago, this place did the best curry Id ever had - Ancient Malai. The last two times I ordered this dish it was completely different. I sent one back and explained how it was supposed to be cooked. The dish came back to me exactly the same with some cream mixed in. Very disappointing.... More

We have used this restaurant many times but the last few times have been a bit Dissapointing. The food is ok, nothing wrong with it but the place is tired and needs updating.

A work colleague and I chose this based largely on the TA reviews - it's located in a parade of shops which includes a number of other restaurants. It was quite early on Wednesday evening so it was quiet. The welcome was fine and we chose to have the £12.95 menu mentioned in other reviews which allows you to choose... More

First time at this restaurant based on it's positive Trip Advisor reviews, and was not disappointed. Between the five of us we had a variety of dishes which were all delicious. We particularly enjoyed the mixed starter, fish kola, fish masala (yes we like fish) and sag aloo. Latter was spicier than most places, but none the worse for that.... More

Was very quiet on a Sunday night, but food was so tasty, definitely the best Indian in Staines. Staff were really friendly and service was great.

Have been going to The Ancient Raj for a while now and after failing dimly to local "Authentic Indian Food" I found the opposite in this restaurant. their food has been freshly prepared and consistent time and time again without any surprises in spice, heat or quality. I have at other restaurants been shocked upon receiving the bill but here no... More
