An outstanding evening. They accommodated our food preferences, even adjusting when we saw the menu. Every course was better than the next. Presentation was beautiful, service was great and food even better! Great wine selection.

Dining at FLX Table is such an event. We loved it. The food is fabulous tasting, with beautiful presentation. Time just flew by as we relaxed and enjoyed the food and wine pairings. Staff was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend. Make reservations early!

The food presentation was creative with visual appeal. however ever the food taste appeal was disappointing.. We were a party of 5; and none of us could eat the salad with duck hearts.. The chef should have chosen a less risky item for the menu....We all opted for additional Baller wine pairing with each course. The sommeliers’s expertise was exceptional. The wines seemed to outshine the food. Overall fun experience for a special occasion. But won’t rush back! Jerseygirl 15More

The stars of the Dining Experience at FLX Geneva: The Pre-dinner cocktails were spot on....Tony did a great job creating those. The Wine list is stupid crazy.....Hard to get allocated rare wines make the experience even better if you are into wines. Thanks to the...Coravin they can sample any bottle they wish !!! The beer pairing was the best I have ever witnessed...I am a wine guy but I chose the beer pairing which I was happy I did....outstanding selections The opening offereing.....was dynamic, creative and quite tasty.....A beautiful board filled w/ different vegetable, butters and sauces.....along with the best bread that rivals Paris. Service was Great !! Overall vibe was awesome and inviting The price of the tasting is very reasonable.....you don't find too many restaurants that price a 5 course + tasting meal at 75.00...well done. !! Tony was very well trained as he had some great history regarding every wine and beer that he served.....very refreshing to have a professional serve you and explain what you are experiencing. The losses: The fare could have been more refined. I run wine paired dinner to this day...have been doing it for over 20 years and when you have small " sampling " portions.....each one better rank in your top food experiences. Missed the mark a bit. The offerings were good, not great ! Have signature dishes that are staples of the tasting menu......fare that clients salivate over.... Overall....well done and I can't wait to join them again for a great dining experience. Looking forward.More

Was working our way through the meal which takes a lot of time. Staff started playing rap music which didn’t go with the meal nor the ambiance as what we expected from this restaurant. I asked the person in charge to change the music to...which he responded “that was the music they liked “. My opinion didn’t matter. We spent the rest of the meal having to listen to music filled with the N word and the F word. Being from the South I have spent my adult life teaching my children not to use the N word and this restaurant held us captive to their music. FLX Table is the kind of restaurant that you really want to like. It is small, personal and fun. It is on a quint side street surrounded by by other similar type venues in downtown Geneva and the idea of a farm-to-table nestled in the...midst of Finger Lake farms sounds great. The menu is short and limited and promises to be at a level of skill and execution that it never achieves. The opening gambit is an appetizer board of fresh vegetables with a beautiful loaf of freshly baked bread along with a variety of butters and dips. Too many of the vegetables were raw and the bread deserved better butter then what it got. The next course was a panzanella salad which was fine, but it is the kind of dish you throw together at home on a Sunday night when you don't really have the energy to prepare any else. It seem like the chef could have worked harder for this course. The next course was a duck confit with braised collard greens. The confit was good but served off the bone but the collard greens were undercooked. The desert was a creative interpretation of apples and cheese. In this case the apples were roosted and the cheese was foamed. It was nice enough dish but again the chef could have worked harder. The wine parting was quite good with some nice collections of Finger Lake wines, however at $75 for the paring, a bit steep given current retail market prices. The sommelier was knowledgeable, however his description of the wine was rushed and at times inaudible under his mask.More

The best part of the meal tonight was the salt bread..which is not made in house. Our foursome found the evening disappointing,from the oddly uninformed host who didn’t know what pairings we had ordered in advance, to the lack of seasonal vegetables (tomatoes, corn, zucchini,...fruits…). There was a bao with blood sausage and sauerkraut. Ugh. No taste except the kraut, and too much bread after eating the wonderful salt bread. We had to pay $10 for a tiny spoonful of caviar on a deviled egg. Not special, even with the sturgeon roe. My husband’s main was a tiny portion of black bass…delicious but more of a teaser than an entree. The others had the lamb with a tasteless, dry ‘ratatouille’ lacking acid, no tomatoes, onions, wine, ollives. It was a naked piece of meat. The worst course was the ‘peach cobbler.’ I could find no fruit among the starchy block of crusty, dry cobbler. Then the weird and stagey delivery of popcorn boxes with a surprise. The surprise was no popcorn. Instead we were to wear a party hat and beads and sing happy birthday to another guest. There was a prop cake, not a real one. The sum total of the evening is we will not return, we regret the expense and the travel time. Find out where you can get the salt bread, that and butter and you’ll have the best part of the dinner without the large dish of disappointment.More

We live in the Finger Lakes and try to make it to FLX Table several timer per year so that we can enjoy their ever-changing, locally sourced menu. It is always a delightful experience. The service is enthusiastic and attentive. Dietary restrictions, likes/dislikes are respected...and asked about on more than one occasion. We love the wine pairings. We have had the opportunity to sample wines over 50 years old! They offer several different wine pairing options and guests are free to choose based price and preference. The decor is simple and the experience is intimate as they seat only one small group for a dinner. Add one are sometimes available and I have enjoyed caviar on more than one occasion. We love taking friends to this gem of a place and will surely be back for the Fall menu!More

FLX Table describes itself as "one of the Finger Lakes premier dining experiences." I'm afraid it is not. In fact, it is a poor imitation of gourmet dining. We went with high expectations and left with a feeling of great let-down. Our prix fixe menu...started with raw vegetables and crusty bread and assorted dips and butters. While the bread was tasty, the crudites were not; the butters and dips were, however fine. It was an easy, unsophisticated start to the five course meal. This was followed by small fresh oysters and a cucumber salad with octopus and a Szechuan chili-mayo sauce. The managers should know that specialties like fresh oysters and octopus are not to the liking of many diners, us included. we skipped both. A wee morsel of meatball followed. Okay... The entree, New Zealand venison with a quinoa tabbouleh aioli was tough and lacking in flavor. In fact, mine was so tough and gristly, I had to spit out most of it on my plate. I finally gave up and abandoned the rest. The dessert was an unremarkable strawberry crumble. No coffee. No tea. The staff ushered the 15, or so, diners out with toasted marshmallows. While the servers were unfailingly cheerful and responsive, the service was little better than what one encounters in most (less expensive) upscale restaurants. Dirty silverware went unchanged between courses and table debris clean-up was spotty. There were no salt and pepper shakers. The rather small combined dining/kitchen space is bright and cheery, with lovely boxes of herbs hanging from the ceiling. That said, the decor is bland and forgettable. Worst of all is the acoustics. The restaurant would benefit from strategically placed acoustic tiling, area rugs and wall tapestries to deaden the noise. We opted for a pre-dinner wine tasting at FLX's neighboring shop, called, "Provisions." Our server was very informed and pleasant and went out of her way to provide us with a broad sampling of Fingerlakes wines. Sadly, all but a sparkling Riesling ranged from terrible to mediocre. The more a restaurant charges, the more discriminating I am. After all, for $100-plus per head, a customer has every expectation of a very special dining experience. Not only spectacular, flaw-free cuisine, but service with dash and panache and creativity. FLX sorely lacks in all these areas. Exemplars of this class of gourmet dining can be found at the Inn at Little Washington (Virginia), Summit at the Broadmoor (Colorado Springs, CO) and the North Fork Table & Inn (Southold, NY). The dining experiences at these establishments linger in your memory literally for years. Sadly, this is not true of FLX, which we found forgettable at best. Foremost on my mind as we departed was where I could grab a hot pizza. I really wanted to rate FLX with several stars, but, unfortunately, they couldn't even make the cut past one star in our case. From other reviews, others clearly felt differently. That said, we won't be returning.More

Dinner here was a highlight of our Finger Lakes trip. The vegetable platter on the table was a work of art. Almost too beautiful to eat. But so delicious, we finished everything. Chef Linnea's pork belly was perfectly cooked and my wine pairing really complemented...the courses. This restaurant is on par with the best restaurants in Philadelphia or New York.More

We visited for a private five course wine pairing dinner experience as a large bachelorette group. From the minute we walked in every employee was absolutely wonderful and our group had so much fun. We had quite a few dietary restrictions and they were all...accommodated beautifully with delicious dishes. They truly went above and beyond! From surprising us by bringing out more wine varieties to educate us about different Rieslings when we asked questions, to helping out our group when our driver was delayed at the end of the night, the service was absolutely above and beyond all expectations. We even had personalized menus with Best Wishes for the Bride to Be and they allowed decorations. Absolutely our favorite experience in the Finger Lakes and a big thank you to everyone at F.L.X table!More

So..... it is rare one will find a restaurant owned and operated by a master chef and Master Somm.... and one who grew up in upstate NY....Christopher Bates. FLX Table is a wonderful adventure if you want either a unique food experience or a superior...food AND wine experience. A special night out for sure, The chef and food was delicious and made the eventing special. The wine list and wine pairing made the experience more special and would impress any "wine geek". 2001 Hermitage Blanc, 1981 Barbaresco, 1990 Pedro Ximenez WOW. I cannot say enough about FLX Table and if you want to enjoy a special food and wine experience, you should book a table at FLX table.More

Our daughter was in town and she has wanted to go here for a long time so we set up reservations. The first stumbling block was the pre-paid $340 for four of us just to reserve a table. Somewhat understandable I guess, since you wouldnt...want to have a reservation no show and have an empty table. So that was paid when reservation made. This $$ was just for table and food. No wine, just food. When we arrived, the staff was pleasant. the lady at the door was a hoot but I had spoken to her on the phone and already knew that. As I said, the staff was pleasant and attentive for the most part. Our meal was..... interesting??? I imagine that you go to a place like this to experience new foods and pretty much make yourself a guinea pig. Suffice it to say that I was not impressed with any of it. And you have no idea of the menu because it is a fresh surprise daily. One example was a risotto with a duck gizzard puree center. Now my wife and I are not metro foodies so we cant really base all of the food on us but the kids live in Arlington and are very diverse in their palate however, no one at the table liked it and actually, those that have a more experienced palate for this type of restaurant said it was over cooked. So needless to say, the almost $400 for the food that night left a lot to be desired when shelling out that much $$. And now on to the wine. In addition to the reservation/food fee, we dropped another $100+ on 2 bottles of wine. We chose mid to lower cost wines that read well in the description. And, our choices were excellent however, when the bill came, there was a supposed mistake in that we were charged $90+ for a $50+ bottle of wine. Fortunately, our economist, future son in law spotted it and it was rectified so pls be sure to scrutinize your bill when it comes. So, all in all, we were all pretty disappointed after dropping about $500 for dinner that night. Oh, one last note, I am unsure of what the normal clientele is here but the background music that played all night was a borderline rap. I thought maybe it was me because I am older but the kids brought it up after we got home. And the coup de grace was the waiter standing at the end of our table at 725, practically tapping his toe, and waiting for us to get up and get out. Never had that happen before.More

This was such a fun and unique experience and I am so happy that we did it! I was a little leery at first because I don’t have quite the distinguished palette but the food was absolutely delicious and if I didn’t want to taste...some thing I just gave it to my husband LOL. Everyone was welcoming and they spaced everybody out perfectly and we felt very comfortable there. I would definitely come back and do this again!More

Everything including tax and a 20% gratuity is charged to your card when you make your reservation. The only exception would be wine or beer selected when you are there.
