After passing Mountain Brauhaus for years and always on a closed day (Mon&Tues) we stopped for lunch/dinner on a Friday! Lovely place. Owner/hostess delightful. Waiter was outstanding! I had Wiener schnitzel with pumpernickel bread and salad, red cabbage, lemon wedge & lingonberries and spaetzl. Huge portion, so the boxed leftovers came home. Spouse decided to try four appetizers (!) plus... More

Really great experience, felt transported to a European mountainside hiking stop (without the flight or elevation view)! I hiked with friends whose family had owned a butcher market in the area and have been going to this restaurant since they were little kids. So after 10 years, this was a hopeful walk down memory lane for them as we were... More

This is honest food with integrity. The people who prepare everything, from the bartenders to the chefs all have a passion for service. We noticed how the bartenders would put ice and water into all the glasses right before pouring in a beer or drink to ensure a frosty drink. The portions are decadent! We ordered the 3 sausage combination... More

We have been going to the Mountain Brauhaus for over 50 years and still immensely enjoy the restaurant. They truly serve superior German food. The restaurant is still crowded after all these years. In fact, this weekend when we dined at the restaurant, we had to make reservations for 12:30 p.m. because there was no availability after that time. A... More

We were five for lunch including two small children. It took almost an hour between the time that the food was ordered until it was served. The food is five stars. The dishes are generous and the food is very tasty. Unfortunately, until the food was served, the kids lost patience and wanted to leave, so when the food was... More

A Sunday night here with a impressive wait for a table. Kind pro host who cares. Cozy bar. Goid beer menu. Regarding food I had an excellent rouladen. Good spatzel. Good bread from Cohen bakery in Ellenville. My partners schnitzel was greasy and probably deep fried. Strudel was looking good but disappointing due to phyllo dough. Impressed w using local... More

What a great find! Delicious food and amazing beer. It is so good there can be a very long wait, so call ahead during busy hours. But so well worth the wait. Best pot roast and mashed potatoes I have ever had! Amazing!

Our hosts at Mountain Meadow BnB recommended Mountain Brauhaus for authentic German food and beer. Their suggestion to go early (before 5pm) was wise, yet we still had a 40 minute wait on a Friday. We ordered two mugs of their Oktoberfest beer and sat outside on the picnic tables and waited with others. Everyone we met insisted we try... More
