This was our second time visiting Plancha. We went on a Saturday night around 6, and had 15 min wait for a table of 2. We loved the dark-lit ambience. The service was prompt and friendly. My boyfriend and I shared the pan con piquillo,...jamon iberico platter, patatas bravas, croquetas de bacalao, bocadillo bites, and bread basket. The iberico platter and croquetas were the best, absolutely hands down!! Amazing… We then shared the panacotta and bread pudding for dessert. I'd recommend both! This was some of the best food we have had on Long Island… We really enjoyed it's simplicity and the value. We rarely have a nice meal <150$… but Plancha seriously delivered. We will be back soon!More

We just returned home from brunch at this restaurant. While the food was good, I could NEVER recommend this place for the following reasons: 1) I have an allergy to cheese and requested to have the eggs that are topped with "grated truffle cheese" minus...the cheese. I was told that I couldn't be accommodated - no substitutions. OK, I said - I'll just have the salad minus nuts -- surely they could do that. Nope! I was told again - sorry we can only serve the food EXACTLY as it says on the menu. OK, I said - how about just a fried egg? Nope - even though fried eggs are in several dishes, since it isn't specifically a dish on the menu - no dice. Then the waitress was suggested that I have the bacon and egg sandwich with comes with -- CHEESE! I said, "can you leave off the cheese?" Nope. So I said, never mind - I won't have anything. We ordered the steak and eggs platter for the table. A few fried eggs came on it, so I ate those. However, the platters came minus the steak knives. While not impossible to cut steak with a butter knife - it isn't easy. Our waitress was inattentive to say the least. I asked for another iced tea and she never returned. About 10 minutes later I asked someone else for one and was told they needed to brew a new batch. I'm ok with that but it would have been nice to know (I said forget it). Additionally, she had to be asked several times for sweetener, forgot to bring other drinks that were ordered and was just absent for most of our meal. I had to ask someone else for the check. He, btw, was very attentive even though he clearly had a different job. We eat out 4-5 times a week. We will never go back.More

I have to say I experience the Worst Customer service EVER!! I Travel for a living and have eaten all over the world and Never have I ever been Treated so rudely at a restaurant . I get the waitress may have been having a...bad night (not sure why, restaurant was not busy) But the Rudness of the Manager JD was unacceptable They Broght the wrong food...forgot our order...the waitress never once came over and checked on our table to see if we needed anything, she just sat at the bar...When we complained about the service... Managers response was “ WHAT DO YOU WANT” Never once did we receive and Apology. This by Far is one of the Worst Restaurants on Long Island.More

Excellent food and wonderful team! So welcoming! Very large choice of tapas, European cheese and wines. We came late at night and they welcome us anyway. We had fried chicken : delicious. As I'm French, the bar tender made us taste an extraordinary champagne BOHIGAS,...made with the French winemaking technique: extraordinary!More

After yelping a place for tapas this place came up so my friend and I headed over. When we received our menus I realized I've been to their sister restaurant Salumi in Massapequa. I knew right away ok I'm going to love this place seeing...as I'm a big fan of Salumi. We ordered the Spanish board which I have ordered in Salumi and yum tasted exactly the same!!! So big winner there. I saw they had octopus on the menu different from Salumi but that was okay so I ordered it. Yikes it was awful! Especially the mole on the side. It just did not work well with the octopus. The octopus also tasted rubbery and it was an extremely small portion for the price. Not that it mattered seeing as I didn't enjoy it. Service was okay. Plenty of parking available. I probably won't be back to this location but will happily go back to Salumi. I also found it to be pretty priceyMore

As much as I enjoy the food at Plancha, I have to say the service was the worst. After seating 6 of us, the waitress took drink orders from 5 and started to walk away. When we stopped her, she said "oh, I didn't see...you." The salads were delivered to our table without utensils, the soup delivered without a spoon and an unrecognizable plate was put down in the middle of the table and the server had no idea what it was! Needless to say, the waitress did not get a good tip and has no idea why. Unfortunately, I will never go back.More

Cute little place with superb wine & tapas!! Absolutely awesome for couples or catching up with friends! I’ve been back a few times in the past couple of weeks and it can get a little crowded. The staff does a wonderful job at keeping you...informed as per wait times & accommodating immediately after a table / space at the bar opens up.More

Last night my mom, sister and I had the most ridiculous dining experience. Got there at 615. Asked the host/owner for a table for 3. He said, “you’re going to be waiting FOREVER and everyone just sat down and it would be 40 minutes.” We...said that’s fine. He told us again how long we would wait. Again we said ok. Reluctantly he said I can put your name down. We said we’d wait at the bar. He told us to order food while we wait. We said we want to eat at a table, but we are fine waiting at the bar. He asked again if we wanted food we said no and he said “ok” threw his hands up and walked away (one of MANY times he would do this). We were waiting at the bar saying how we felt unwelcome. Cue the host. “Have you been here before?” “Many times” “so you know when you get a table it is going to be SMALL and not fit 3 people.” Um. Again we said, that’s fine. He brought up eating at the bar again. We again said no. He said if we sit at the bar waiting then when other people come in to eat they will have to wait longer because “they might want to eat at the bar and they will have to wait for us to move.” I said “not my problem” again “ok” hands up walks away. People came in, so we moved from the bar so they could sit. Cue host. “I never said you weren’t allowed to sit at the bar.” “You kind of did, you said we would be taking up room.” “Well you are!” What? “You are taking up space for other customers to come in!” Taking up space? We’re waiting for a table. I said “You shouldn’t tell customers they are taking up space.” “But you are! I am in reality!” I told him he’s living in his own reality and that we were looking for another place to eat. “Ok” hands up walks away. And he’s back. “I hear Perennial is good.” Now he’s giving us other restaurant recommendations! (To recap:we asked for a table, were told a wait time, said THATS FINE and this is the outcome.) He goes on again about how long the wait will be. We said we’re fine and just want to have dinner with our mom and wait in peace. “Ok” hands up walks away. We see some tables get up. He takes us to a table for 2 that was set for 3. There were two other tables with more room. We ask if we can sit there. He rolls his eyes and says “WHAT DID I TELL YOU?” (When i write his voice he wasn’t yelling but more a loud whisper like a kid having a tantrum) I asked if he could turn the table so there was more room on the bench side. Eye roll. Turns table. Finally he’s gone. We are looking at the menu and laughing at how ridiculous it has been. Cue host. He points to the table next to us and says, “Youre not gonna let anyone sit there are you.” We look and say what? He repeats it. We say “what does that mean? We’re not doing anything!” My sister said, “Seriously can you just tell me why you came over and said that to us. I need to know.” He said, “I just got a vibe.” I said, “That is not a thing!” He said, “I just don’t want you to be mean to more people.” MORE? I think at this point we all realized he has something wrong with him. I asked him if he is having conversations with us that we aren’t involved in. He then did a hundred eye rolls while telling us to shhhh and “knock it off” and “stop starting things”. Now we are just laughing at him. I honestly thought he was joking. He takes the table next to us and says he’s just gonna give it to us since we’re gonna be mean to imaginary people. We tell him we don’t want the table we are FINE. Nope we’re gonna be mean. He moves the table and leaves. Halfway through our meal, it gets packed. We felt bad taking a table we didn’t ask for. We move our stuff to one table and tell the host he can use it for people waiting. Eye roll and “OH COME ON!” I said we are not being rude we don’t want people waiting. He thanks us and says “but I told them it would be a long wait.” WHAT? We said well it will be a nice surprise for them! I wish I could say this wasn’t real. Despite it all, great meal and drinks. The waitstaff there is always great and super nice.More

Never got a chance to try it. The host was incredibly rude. He was a relatively tall, white male with long black hair in a bun and a black beard. This place was recommended by 2 people so our large party of 9 was excited...to go. When I made the reservation a week ago I was told to call if there were any changes and that our reservation will be held for 15 minutes. No problem, it's a reasonable policy especially since the place is tiny. The first guest arrived at 7 and at 7:02 texted me to ask my eta because they're trying to give our table away. I walked in at 7:04 and the host inquired how long till our party is complete and I said we're waiting for 2 more people, 1 who walked in as we were talking. Our table was ready and I told him about the 15 min grace period we have and he said that was only when our party was larger. I told him I'd like to wait. He comes back at 7:12 and states he'll give our table away and we can wait for the next one when our party is complete. I asked why he couldn't just wait the 3 minutes and he said "fine, I'll keep those people waiting on you so you can wait for your friend, fine no problem" with an attitude. At that point I was beginning to entertain his proposal even though it meant that WE might be waiting but then he says, "I can't believe you're negotiating with me. Seriously". At that point, we decided that we didn't want to give our hard earned money to this establishment and with service like that at the front end, who knows what the wait staff would be like? We decided to leave and revisited Novita across the street which was so good, yummy, friendly and professional. It's such a shame about Plancha because although they may not care about losing money from me, I eat out a lot and have a big family. We're always looking to try different places. Management needs to take a look at their staff and make some adjustments. I don't decide to go out to eat and get deplorable service before I taste the food.More
