great meal

ate a Limani 2 weeks before eating here. this blew away Limani in every way. the standouts in food were the grilled calamari and grilled octopus. excellent service. bill was substantially less than it's competitor and was much better. very suprising.

Delicious Greek Food in a low key atmosphere

We started with some delicious Greek appetizers and some crisp Greek white wine. Two wonderful seafood entrees were followed by dessert. The prices are high but the quality warranted the prices. Service was excellent and we will return.

I am in no way greek, but this food was not up to par what's so ever. I've been to Greece where the feta cheese was so fresh & tastey that's all you wanted for dinner. Trader Joe's feta cheese in a container was better than what I had. Having moved to Forest Hills 6 months ago, I was very excited to try this place. I was craving greek food. It seemed like everything was microwaved. We ordered calamari, Santorini shrimp & meat platters. I figured after the rubbery (way too hot, fresh out of the microwave) calamari, to just give it a chance. I order the Santorini Shrimp b/c of the feta cheese... it came with an actual sprinkle & I had to ask for more. AND, way overpriced. Not happy at all. Hoping this review helps for their business in the future....

A pretty good brunch

The weekend brunch was heavy on three egg omelettes ($17). Mine was pretty good but nothing special. It came with potatoes, blueberry muffins and a mimosa. The menu also had several seafood options. The space is on a corner and is bright. Service was fine.

Some Good Options

I've had mixed results here, but some dishes are pretty good: the crab cakes, either as appetizer or entree, the bitter in a good way argulla and feta salad, the octopus. The meat dishes I've had are just OK. The chicken kebobs are better and cheaper at Corfu up the block. The menu needs more options. Service is good, especially when the place isn't full, as often seems the case.

Saturday. Arrived at tail end of brunch. All good until shift change and our waitress disappeared (around 4p on a Saturday). At this point we became invisible. Food was good. Bus service was good. Waitress service gets failing grade. Its really hard for me to not want to leave a tip. This day warranted it. (We still left 15% and that was way generous). Owner was there and he too was oblivious to the problem. (I hope he reads this post.) We were really dumbfounded. Brunch over at 330. Recommend not arriving between 3-330. After or before should avoid the problem we had.

Great food, ambiance, and staff!

My husband and I were very impressed with Agora. We started with the hummus, and moved on to the broiled sole special and mixed meat platter. Delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive. Nice setting too.

Excellent Greek Cuisine

Be prepared to feast on some really excellent tasty food. A varied menu ensures that you will find something that appeals to you. You can eat inside or outside. The staff is very accommodating. Make a point of going there if you are nearby. And just be sure to leave some room for desert !

Nice Spring Outdoor lunch

My family and friend and I love this greek restaurant in Forest Hills and we go quite often especially for lunch. I was there with my husband last week as it was the very first spring day we had after a long winter and We wanted to eat outdoors. It is a very relaxing place and the food is really good especially the seafood dishes. The greek wine ( Asirtiko) they serve there is nice and dry as well perfect to pair with the seafood they have.

We eat often at Agora taverna. The fish is tasty but lately the side dishes especially the french fries were not good. The salads are good and the desserts!

We go very often at Agora. It is nice and quiet. The food is good. The atmosphere is nice. The lunch price is good and the plates are rich with food. The fish is fresh. It is worth for the price.
