I visited with my family, everyone said that the food was okay but not great, and there was really nothing that I liked. We ordered a few dishes and shared so I was able to try several different things. I think the only thing I...was okay with was the pancake. One family member is from Korea, and he was disappointed as well.More

I came in with my family for dinner on a recent trip to NY, it was good, but not outstanding. We ordered a lot and shared, so I was able to try many things. I had the Beef Bulgogi, it was well seasoned, and the...onion and mushrooms were a nice surprise, but the meat was shredded, I've never had it like that and prefer the larger pieces of meat. The dumplings were OK, they were a little greasy, but it was nice that they were made fresh on site. The pancake was very good, the drinks were pretty good, and the Banchan were also pretty good. My stepdad was born in Korea, and was not impressed with the food, though. I think if we'd ordered other items, like the ones that come with the tabletop grill, we would have been more satisfied with our visit. The prices were a bit high.More

Came here for lunch following a recent NYT review. Cooking on a convex cast iron grill looked fun. But why does Korean food always cost so much? We had an order of the marinated pork, it was $23 for 3 strips and the kalbi was...4 strips. Is the price of meat that high? Granted there's marinating and work involved but really, why does Korean BBQ always cost so much? Anyway, limited amount of ban chan. Like the small touch of a pitcher of water and a small side table to put stuff (necessary as the convex grill takes up nearly the entire table). We ordered the cold noodles in an ice bowl purely because the presentation was so cool but it wasn't worth the $14 for what it was. It really isn't. We ordered fried rice up front but after waiting half an hour with an empty grill for them to bring it out, had to remind them. The house made fermented soy bean paste wasn't too shabby. Otherwise, service was friendly enough.More

Another michelin bib's great selection- the BBQ is cooked in front if you on a huge pan- a pan that shapes more like a wok cover. Tried the duck and beef and both are tasty. It came out ~ $30/ person

Pork Belly! That's the specialty of this Flushing restaurant. Like restaurants in Seoul, which tend to have limited menus (you want fried chicken, you go one place, you want ramen, you go to anther, etc.) this is a restaurant that has a small menu of...dishes it does very well. The cooking is one this odd dome-like grill and the pork belly, garlic, kimchi and bean sprouts are cooked for you until you finally eat it in a lettuce wrap. No banchan (all the little dishes) that you get in the big restaurants. You can also get a cold soup of somewhat gelatinous noodles served in a bowl made of ice. Interesting, but hard to share. At the end of the meal, make sure you get the rice, which is fried on the grill picking up all the morsels of garlic pork, kimchi, etc. The decor is pretty primitive, but the service is attentive. easy parking on the street and close to a LIRR stop.More
