This place has been here for a while. We have had mixed experience here, the most recent one be a dim-sum during lunch time. Even though we did not see many of the exotic items, choices are plenty, and the food were excellently prepared, fresh,...flavorful, and tasty. The services are good. The tips was included in the final bill. Please take note.More

A great place to bring a big family or a group of friends, price of dim sum is reasonable and variety is huge. Weekends mean a long wait and crowded rooms.

There are two distinct restaurants at this location, the upstairs serves Dim Sum for lunch and always have a huge line on the weekend - very unorganized and rude maitre’d, tough luck if you don’t understand Chinese when they call out your number. After 20...minutes of waiting, we went downstairs and was seated almost immediately. No Dim Sum here (even though we were only downstairs) but was able to order noodle and rice dishes. The food literally came within 10 minutes of ordering. We enjoyed the beef chow fun, chicken chow mein, snow pea vegetable, steamed chicken and Peking pork chops. We could have skipped the rice noodle, it was flavorless. We eat here often for dinner and always have consistently good food and great prices. I bet we would have still been waiting upstairs.....More

We were very hungry, walking down the main street and entered this venue. The food seemed nice and tasty, as it looked good. The venue was nice and decorated with balloon, banners, etc. As we turned into line - nobody paid attention to use, only..."ticketed" patrons were served. We left the venue with a kind of regret that we couldn't taste local food, and still in search for it... Living in absolutely remote part of New York, I am familiar with Oriental food. I truly enjoy it. We have a couple of Oriental buffets in our neighborhood and sometime we go to dine there. So good to know local customs if we find ourselves in Flushing next time.More

First time I’ve enjoyed this type of buffet. Steam carts with individual plating brought thru for your selection. Staff friendly and food good.

We stopped in for lunch. We had no idea what to expect. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the hospitality from the staff. We only speak English so they were very patient with trying to explain what each item was. Everything was served hot and...tasted delicious. I’m really glad that we came upon this restaurant while visiting Flushing. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll be back to eat here.More

Fortunately we went here with a chinese speaker who helped us out a little. We decided to go with all the dishes that were recommended and were very happy with the results- Seafood stone pot, lobster and a noodle dish. Was tasty, very easy to...share, an the prices were excellent. It's only a few blocks from the congested areas of flushing but well worth walking a few extra blocks. Place was much, much, cleaner than many chinese places and we were there about 3:30 so was not crowded or loud.More

Got some duck for take out, it was undercooked. had to recook it, Service here was never first rate, but they often have specials of one kind or another like a lobster for $9.99 etc....also some cheap eats like wonton or noodle soup. Authentic Chinese...style food in general.. Also a steam table for some quick take out,More

Went here for weekend midday dim sum. As is usual at all the Flushing places, had to wait, but nor more than 15 minutes. Giant room, very few roundeyes. Cart ladies come quickly, not as aggressive as we expected. Particularly good shu mai style offerings....Had to special order sticky rice. Wanted to order a plate of greens - out of bok choi (!),out of spinach - they came up with another leafy green, quite good, sesame dredged. Special orders over crispy noodles excellent. We read on their website they have valet parking, but didn't see any sign of it - parked on street.More

I've been to many many different restaurants for banquet style events whether it was for weddings, special birthdays, baby 1 or 100 day celebrations...it goes on and on. Asians love food and when there's a special occasion, Asians dine and boy are they critical about...their food. Nowadays, not only is the food judged like it was a dish on Top Chef, unique presentation, modern nuances to display has elevated dishes to gourmet heights! East Buffet & Restaurant covers all the culinary desires for the Asian diner. Now, you know the rule- if the restaurant is crowded with many Asian diners in a feeding frenzy you know that you've found a great restaurant. You've found it here in East Buffet & Restaurant. From purchasing cooked BBQ char sui, roasted ducks & pigs to authentic dim sum and great party catering for awesome banquets...this delightful culinary restaurant has fed many satisfied patrons for many years. Happy Eating and I'll see you around the table as often as I can, of couse if I'm in the neighborhood! So good!More

If you don't care about ambiance, this is the place to eat on the main floor. For four people, we ordered two lobsters in Cantonese style, string beans with minced meat, fried pork chop and fish with tofu in a clay pot. Dishes are large...and we had to bag the leftover. In Cantonese cooking, there's a saying, "Ho Wok Hay." This restaurant has the wok hay in my opinion. It gets very crowded on the weekend.More

This was our first time at a Chinese wedding. We were very surprised at what we experienced. The appetizers were not really appetizing and we have never seen french fries at an appetizer bar. We never saw suckling pigs with red blinking eyes that were...brought to the table and served to the guest. The food was not hot and not appealing. The other foods that were served did not appeal to us. Maybe it was just that we are non-Chinese and this is the way a wedding is done in their culture. The server at our table was very attentive and got us what ever we needed. The place really needs updating and a good cleaning.More

This is a long standing place for dim sum. The dim sum restaurant is on the 2nd floor. The first floor is ready to go cafeteria style offerings. The food remains good and easy to order. They have specialty items like clams, curry pork, etc...on the side. Service is very attentative and polite for a Chinese restaurant. There is a no tipping policy though I am not sure why. During the winter the place can be down right cold as they always leave the exit door open ajar - not sure why?More

I go to East Buffet with my mom every other week for dim sum. It's one of the three main dim sum halls in Flushing but this one has the easiest parking with a "free" lot downstairs as long as you get your ticket stamped...by the cashier and you tip the valet $2. My biggest tip is to go before 11am, even during weekdays otherwise you're waiting at least 30 minutes and sometimes up to an hour. They call out numbers in Mandarin, so if you're unsure if your number has been called for a table, just ask the woman at the podium. The restaurant is on the second floor and is handicapped accessible if you use the one slow elevator located just beyond the entrance area and next to the hanging chickens, ducks and other meats. There is a nice variety of dim sum and there is a no-tipping policy. The other benefit of going early is cleaner toilets. Chinese restaurant toilets really scare me. The mostly guys (and a few women) in black jackets will take non-dimsum dish orders (rice or noodle dishes) and add up your bills that you then take to the cashier to pay. Otherwise, look around for what you want for dim sum in the carts passing by. Don't order tea unless you drink it because there is a charge for tea. After dim sum, order fresh food downstairs for takeout for home. The duck, chicken, fried chicken wings and roast pork are good near the elevator. Place your order by the pound and say if you want things chopped or not. The woman attendant will hand you a receipt, pay at the cashier across the window and give the receipt to the woman and she will give you your food. Ditto for if you order any of the veggies or food by the front entrance.More
