Safe Haven During a Crazy Time

Had A WONDERFUL experience! I've never eaten here before. I selected them simply because they've always had outdoor seating. What a great restaurant! Service was great. Seating was appropriately spaced with umbrellas overhead at each table. Everything I ate or drank was delicious. With all the craziness going on in the world this felt like a safe haven to take a break from it all. Details: I had their red sangria. bread and flavored butter were served immediately and wrapped securely. My main course was Penne with Zucchini. The Zucchini was very fresh and flavorful. For dessert I had chocolate mousse cake with decaf cappuccino.

Never Disappointed!! Affordable Elegance & Great Food!

My sister and I like to occasionally meet at Sotanos and other fine restaurants in Dutchess County. No matter where we go, I think we love Sotano’s the best! First of all–it’s situated in a charming Colonial home. Oversized hanging baskets and tiger lilies adorn the driveway and entrance. Chef Patricio has been in business for over 20 years, sharing his unique understanding of cuisine all over New York. His dream of opening his own restaurant came to reality in June 2018. Patricio and his team have created an ambiance of warm fine dining and introduced it to the Village of Fishkill. My sister and I, and many other family members, have lived and had a business in the Fishkill since 1967 and can tell you that Sotano’s is a much welcome addition. Our server, Natalie, was the best. She was attentive without being obtrusive and allowed my sister and I lots of time for chit chat between courses. I ordered THE BEST vegetarian burger I’ve ever had. For $15, it was two jumbo portobello mushrooms with roasted red and green peppers, roasted asparagus, basil pesto, olive tapenade and patatas brava on the side. Omgosh, it was phenomenal. You've never had a vegetarian burger like this! My sister ordered her favorite, Lobster Ravioli, and was not disappointed. We also shared the appetizer garbanzo-dusted calamari, very crispy with two different dipping sauces. Excellent! We had three glasses of wine between us. Even their bread is served with some type of very tasty compound butter. We needed to pass up desserts as we just were too full and both brought half our meals home. What lovely ambience with soft lit chandeliers and white table-clothed tables. Just to the right of the entrance there’s a beautiful, very quaint, small bar with lots of wood–totally welcoming. A huge fresh flower presentation sits atop the hostess/maître d' podium. And as an aside, and this always matters to me, immaculate restroom with designer lotions and hand washes. $85 plus tip for an awesome meal together! Patricio, you deserve all the success you are enjoying! Thank you for joining and enhancing our little Village.

Excellent Food! WOW! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent food, prices & service! This was our first time dining here and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a culinary experience. Fresh colossal shrimp 🍤 only 2.50 each. Delicious scallops & bacon. Amazing burrata caprese salad. We enjoyed a very relaxing long lunch on the outside patio under an umbrella. Service was very courteous. The chef/owner Patricio even came outside to thank us for dining with him. We will definitely be back to try more of his creations!

Overall Fantastic

We have been meaning to try Sotano for quite some time after friends recommended it. Glad we finally did! Everything down to the music choice was just excellent. Warm indoors on a cold rainy evening, exceptional waitress (Forgot name I hope the restaurant sees this, she has long dark hair and glasses!), ALL of our food was so delicious and cooked to perfection. I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

A reason for all the good reviews

My wife and I had her birthday dinner as a take out from Sotano’s. She started with the baby arugula salad and I had the Sotano salad. Both were excellent and enough remains along with the entrees for tomorrow’s lunch. We both had the scallops over risotto with various vegetables. VERY, VERY GOOD. Hopefully the restaurant will soon resume “ normal” working conditions and we will return for a sit down lunch or dinner. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Decent food but not worth the terrible service

We booked online. The restaurant has no communication with the 3rd party booking service. It was our first time there. We arrived early and the hostess asked if we specified an indoor table. I told her there was no choice in the online booking. She told us we really should have called the restaurant instead of booking online. How would I know that?? She wanted to sit us in a mildew smelling back room, but instead put us outside, where the sun was shining on us until sunset. The waitress was clueless, the food was very slow to arrive. The couple next to us came after us and left before us. The waitress was not immediately amenable to get the manager. When my husband finally went to get him, he wasn't much help at all. With all the restaurants in the area, this isn't worth the trouble to go back to.

You and your friend have written now six reviews for our establishment on here, yelp, and google. We don't understand the mission you are all on, but we really can't entertain this behavior. Thank you trying us out but we will be okay if you do not return. We had customers yesterday complain that your party was being obnoxious, they finished their meals in the bar because of it. We don't take online reservations. We offered you three different tables. It was an incredibly busy night and we are thankful for customers that have the empathy to understand that. We do not wish for you return.

Take Out Scrumptious as Ever with Daily Specials Too!

Greatest and Friendly place has wonderful assortment of seafood, meats, pastas, appetizers Gourmet dishes. For us each dish is enough for 2 meals last 2 weeks had several meals - oysters in butter wine sauce w/ crispy finished topping, salmon, branzino, swordfish souvlaki w/ roasted vegetables, arugala and caesar salads. gourmet into the home!

Excellent Italian in Fishkill

This is my second time back and another wonderful dining experience! The food is so fresh and well prepared with a diverse menu it’s so hard to pick what to eat! The service was attentive and the dining room in the old home is very comfortable with well spaced tables and good AC! It was ver hot so we were not able to sit outside on the nice patio in front of the restaurant. The octopus salad, calamari and the special Dali’s were all excellent. They use the best olive oil and vinegar that is so tasty. My friend had the swordfish kabob’s and I had the scallops with a delicious risotto- both dishes were large and delicious. Cocktails and wine also ver good. All in all and excellent meal. Just wished it were closer to Brooklyn NY!

Staying home not a problem

We had the ham and manchengo cheese croquettes and fried burrata, both excellent. We had the fruitti di mere for two, which was plenty with leftovers. Everything exceptionally fresh, 2 types of scallops, 2 kinds of clams, shrimp, mussels, calamari and Patricio’s delicious marinara sauce .

Great Meal

My daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here. The atmosphere is cozy as you feel like you’re eating in a country home and the waitstaff is extremely friendly. My daughter loved her chicken dish and I loved my burger. We will definitely be back!

Quaint, delicious, friendly

The restaurant is in a beautiful old (1700s) building with original floors and beams in the cozy bar. I had the Sotano salad- delicious with beautiful presentation, My husband had grilled shrimp with pasta and broccolini which was also excellent. The service was great, polite and friendly.

Very Good Food Reasonably Priced

Outdoor dining directly on Main St, but hedges and fence help a lot. A somewhat limited menu, but enough choices to satisfy.. The potato -Leek Soup was excellent as was the Pollo Martini. Service was friendly, but wait times long for an uncrowded restaurant, especially waiting for the main course and check to arrive. We asked about guest internet availability & were told it was available for private use only??

We had a late lunch so our dinner at Sotano's was limited to entrees with my wife choosing dry sea scallops over Parmesan risotto. I went with the Mediterranean sea bass, two good sized fillets, with fingerling potatoes and haricots verts topped with white wine, lemon, and parsley. Each dish was perfectly executed and reasonably priced.

So Happy We Chose Sotano

Based on the reviews we chose Sotano for an after funeral luncheon for the family. From our first phone call to them, everyone we spoke to was so kind and accommodating. The service was great, the food was delicious And abundant. They did not mind that we stayed for almost three hours, which gave us a chance to visit with relatives we have not seen in a long time. Overall it was an excellent experience. I am so happy we chose Sotano for this important event.

This is most definitely my go to restaurant. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I have eaten almost everything on the menu along with specials and have always been impressed. Patricio is a Master Chef and his love for food and hospitality shines through. I consider this to be the best restaurant in the Hudson Valley.
