The view from the deck at sunset was perfect. The menu had a good assortment of traditional summer favorites with some elegant dishes to boot. Service was fair, full deck at the end of the season and good help with great suggestions as to wine for pairing with meal and fun drinks to have while waiting. The "Adult Ketchup" was... More

I actually do not know where to start. We have been going to the Essex NY area for 40 years approximately. The Old Dock has never changed through multiple incarnations and reincarnations. No matter whoever is running it it is always mediocre. The food is relentlessly uninspired and pricey. The service is usually just OK. Because of the convenience, I... More

5 of us went for our friends birthday dinner. The location on the water and the views are lovely. Difficult entry-be careful driving down in and out. Food- below average. A variety was ordered at our table, mine was the Captains seafood platter,$24. All beer battered BUT one of the 4 shrimp had either a dead FLY or Spider right... More

Spur of the moment trip across Lake Champlain tonight on ferry to try out the "new" Old Dock restaurant-- with no reservations. Offered the last table outside, we gratefully took it.....but too many flies drove us indoors. Quite nice inside now... water views from windows and nicely set table with tablecloth. Then the food came. New England Seafood Chowder was... More

Great location to waste your time enjoying he view. Many happy memories but how they fade. Disappointing service & less than stellar food. My companion had the Chicken Club Special & was haunted all night & the next morning with a "sick" stomach. Suggest you skip the "Specials" as they appear to be left overs. Enjoy the Great View!

We stopped in to one of our favorite local restaurants for dinner during a violent rain storm last week. While we always sit outside to enjoy the spectacular views, we decided not to chance it because of the incoming storm. Good decision...almost! We got waited on quickly and discovered that they had a prime rib special, something we've never had... More

There is no place better to sit on a summers evening with friends and family. The view across lake Champlain is stunning. The food at the old dock is good, we have had mixed experiences there. They do the simple things well. We have found it slightly pricey for what it is and sometimes the service can be slow. All... More

The location, on beautiful Lake Champlain with views of the Green Mountains and adjacent to the ferry from Charlotte, VT, makes it a great place to go for a drink or meal. I went there for dinner and was immediately struck by the excellent customer service by the hostess, bartender, and waiters/waitresses. Genuine smiles and willing to accommodate even last... More

Today I ordered a salad and found a poisonous caterpillar in it!!! Never have had this happen in my life and sounds like a joke even writing it, but literally found a poisonous caterpillar in my food! I ran to the side to vomit and the rest of the table couldn't finish their food...the worst part is that when we... More

I am not sure why this restaurant is so expensive. It is place in a nice location and has a great historic significance. However, the ambiance is terrible, the tables and chairs are plastic, it is not very clean, the decoration is horrible and confusing as what the theme is, the service is fast food level, and the food is...
