Nice quaint place. Loved the food and the service in the beginning. After dinner it seemed that the waiters were very eager to collect the cheque and move us along. Thought is was a bit rude but glad I experienced it.
May go back again.
Just took friends and family, 7 of us; ordered 2 appetizers, soup, 5 dishes. Most were very good, one dish somewhat cold. Three young waitresses with poor attitude and bad service. When one of us asked about coffee, rude response was "Only cold thai tea...we...never serve coffee!". When we asked about desert, another brusque reply, "only taro custard" and when someone asked if she could see it, waitress gave a sarcastic chuckle, "No you can't". No description offered, no service recovery. Despite that, we ordered 3 custards. It was actually quite good. I was going to forgive everything, until 2 customers walked in and the waitress told us to leave to accommodate them. We were leaving in about 5 minutes, it was not necessary to tell us to leave. They were also already given an 18% tip! No one wants to be treated this way. I have never been to thai restaurant in the US or Bangkok where there was such shoddy service. Am never returning and will spread the word. Such a shame!More
Everytime I visit this area I often find myself making every excuse to eat here. The food is DELICIOUS! Service is friendly quite demure and they will accommodate your heat level tolerance. No, not to turn the thermostat up or down but to adjust the...spiciness of the entrees you select. I personally find it so much fun everytime I come to see if I can tolerate the nxt level. My friends don't even want to taste my dishes cause they can't even handle it. It's ok, more for me but I do like to share. Why is that spicy food lovers always have wimpy friends that don't appreciate the heat? That's alright cause Thai food is not
only spicy but that they balance out the heat with sweetness, a bit of sourness and added herbs like basil/cilantro for freshness. It's a carnival full of flavors truly to be enjoy. Whether you like chicken, beef, pork, seafood, duck or even frog legs...Ayada's got you covered! Even if you only order veggies there are so many flavorful choices. Happy Eating and I'll see you around the tables either on the original side or the expanded side of this fantastic foodie location!More
My standards for Thai food are high having lived in Thailand and Los Angeles. I ordered three traditional dishes and was quite pleased. The tastes were as close as possible in North America. My only comment is the sauce on the Pad See Ew was...a bit too sweet. The staff was amazingly polite and friendly.
We dropped into Chelsea Market prior to a show and enjoyed dinner at Ayada. Authentic Thai dishes served by very polite and efficient staff. The service is great and the food id delicious, making this well worth a stop.
We visited their outlet in Chelsea Market on a recent trip to NYC and had a very good meal. Our starters of chicken satay with peanut sauce and chives dumplings were good although a stronger peanut sauce would gave been good. We had two curries...chicken panang curry and chicken massaman curry accompanied by a good Thai jasmine sticky rice. The only issue was we found the service to be a big rushed bug having visited the Far East on a number of occasions this is not unusual for Thai restaurants.More
