What a stunning place. I cannot fault the food, the service and the friendliness of the Staff is amazing. I cannot recommend The Smugglers highly enough. Just try it.

A real Cornish country pub. Hard to find but persists! Went for late lunch and had a great experience. The Chef even had time for a long chat with us and advised us on his menu(even advising against some dishes). I have a starter portion of mussels, very large , garlicky and perfect considering the season. Followed by home made fish... More

After much exploring and trying out of pub food in the Newquay/Crantock area, we now award this pub our 'Best One' award!! Thank goodness for that - now we know exactly which pub to go to when we arrive! It is 'smarter' and a bit pricier than some of the others in the area, but that suits us coz I... More

We really enjoyed our 2 visits to the Smugglers Den. The staff is very friendly, the place with the Christmas decoration is beautiful. The portions for the prices are enormous.

At times there had been two of us, sometimes four of us, sometimes nine of us...but not one bad or even mediocre meal. The pollack, the mussels, venison,... More

We went for a New Year's Eve dinner at the Smugglers Den and were very happy with the choice. Old stone English pub, charming interior and the Christmas decorations were the best I've seen in a long time! I've had the humus which was homemade and my partner had the pork belly which he really enjoyed. Advice: If you use... More

The location is great as it is hidden away off the beaten track, the pub just as you would expect inside with an open fire. The food is delightful.

We had a set Sunday lunch - £9.00 for one course and £12 for two or three courses. This, at least, was what it said on the board. Whilst tucking into our dessert, someone came and changed the price of three courses to £15. Still excellent value but not what we had bought into. We called the waitress who had... More
