We enjoyed this restaurant within a historic Inn. Very charming ambiance, solid menu, and excellent food. Wait staff was very attentive. We will be going back here.

Excellent cocktail in the tavern to start. So cozy and romantic. Went up to the main dining hall for a delicious dinner. Our waiter was friendly and so knowledgeable about wine and food. We actually had a great rapport by the end of dinner. I had the Halibut and my husband had the swordfish and we licked our plates clean.... More

Always loved this place. Gave it great reviews. Last time was very disappointed. Felt rushed, and like the lady that told us about the food really didn't want to be bothered answering our questions. I think she was always there before. Maybe having a bad day, but we were there early, 6:00 pm. Moved it down our must go to... More

It was 5 of us and we all ordered different dishes recommended by the waitress. This was not the first time we ate here but first time with a new chef. Everything was excellent from fluke tartare and tomato soup to main courses. we had short ribs loin ( no bones not fatty at all) and sword fish was very... More

6 of us dined together and we all enjoyed the experience. We ate dinner outside. Fortunately the weather was excellent. And so was the food.

Nothing subtle about 1770. It's a great, no over-the-top style place. Excellent food, great service and a relaxed but nice atmosphere. It's the first place we take visiting friends to if we can get a table. The tavern downstairs is also a nice fall back if the upstairs is booked.

The food in this restaurant should be at the top of anyone's rating chart. It is served by a very knowledgable wait staff and the ambiance is subdued and elegant. Should you go, try any of the fish dishes which the chef truly does well. There is wine by the glass and the waiters will help you choose if you... More

1770 is a wonderful old house with two dining areas. The primary one is on street level and very civilized. Not overstuffed with tables, excellent food and lovely service. There is a downstairs "tavern" dining area that is very intimate and cozy. Reservations are always a must.

Great food and nice service. Our family enjoyed our meal at 1770 House Restaurant. The hamburger was deliciously prepared and I loved the fresh oysters too.

There's a reason 1770 House is East Hampton's top restaurant. The food and the setting are simply amazing and the service is professional. Everything was extremely fresh and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed a roasted Canadian haddock that was exquisite. My companion's roasted chicken was perfect. The wine list has something for every taste and pocket book, with markups in the... More
