Superb Wedding weekend

I cannot give enough praise and appreciation for our third family event thoughtfully and deliciously catered by Villa Italia. Our guests raved about the selection, the very generous portions and the superb flavor of our hot buffet. The staff worked with us to choose the perfect variety for every age group and dietary needs of our family and friends. Thank you again for another memorable family celebration.

Wow was this sandwich good!

Heading out for a picnic at the Montauk lighthouse, we bought 5 sandwiches, chips and drinks and ALL 5 of us LOVED our sandwiches! I had the Joe Dimaggio and a few weeks later, I can still taste it - the sun dried tomatoes were a special surprise addition. It would be great to have sandwiches like this here in Switzerland - just so many interesting, creative and tasty combinations. Definitely worth a stop, if you are anywhere near this place. ENJOY!

Great food

I have been going to villa Italian specialties for over 30 years and I never experienced a sub par m al. My favorite sandwich, in which they have a lot, is the combo. A huge sandwich with freshly sliced cold cuts. The prices are very reasonable for all the food that you receive. They have pre made dinners as well that are superb. Highly recommend

Mozzarella is Amazing but Food is Just OK

First of all, Villa Italian Specialties' mozzarella is one of the best on the East End. Their ricotta is also smooth and creamy. I recommend that you buy the mozz, then find a ripe, red tomato and fresh basil to make caprese at home. For dessert: their tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had. ...That's the good news. ...Aside from that, be forewarned: This food doesn't taste remotely Italian. Their red sauce tastes like creamy salad dressing. There is neither robustness nor spice. It is beyond bland. There is no complexity of flavor. I'm taking it on faith that someone who knows Italian food must have once worked there or owned the place - but there's no evidence of that now, I'm afraid. The best I can say about their prepared dinners is that they are convenient and not terribly priced. I have tried several and haven't found any good ones, yet. I will work my way through what's there and correct this review if I stumble across anything - aside from the mozzarella and tiramisu - that is worth getting.

Arthur Avenue in East Hampton!

This little place across from the train station in EH is like a mini Arthur Ave. The food is AMAZING! If you love Italian this is the place- fresh home made mozz and sausage selection, incredible selection of pre-made meals (chicken and veal parm, meatballs, linguine and clam, the BEST lasagna...and more). There are nice offering of quality italian provisions- pasta, cheeses, olives, sauces, condiments, etc. Oh- by the way- the deli sandwich offering is SICK...so many incredible combinations on heros, focaccia, panini, wraps...that are HUGE! Need I say more...this place is a gem...you gotta go!!!

While known for its exquisite and sumptuous sandwiches this place is so much more. Their prepared dishes: chicken, veal, eggplant, pastas are so easy to take out and heat and match any fine Italian restaurant east of the Shinnecock Canal if not Suffolk County. There cold salads are creative and span delicacies such as calamari to broccoli di rabe to the best potato salad (when available), to tuna sald, and even stuffed banana and cherry peppers. Their year round service crew of Robert, Darrin, and Carmita are consistent and efficient. The only word of warning is that during lunch hours in high season this place gets packed and no amount of help can make things faster. Oh! did I mention you can get a cannoli here. I have catered several events using their resources and all have been exceptional and they are always timely. If you Summer on the East End and don't try this place you are missing a great experience. I am a chef myself, and when I don't feel like cooking this is often my choice.

Quick lunch

Arriving at East Hampton station, this is the only place for cooked lunch within luggage-lugging distance. Very stable sandwiches and heated on-premise cooked pasta dishes. Generous servings at very reasonable prices. (Generally no seating, but a few garden chairs in the back.)

Regretfully disappointed.

There's such an overwhelming positive response to Villa Italian Specialties--take out and catering, not a restaurant--that it's possible I made the wrong food choices or my tastes are very different than others. I didn't enjoy the octopus salad (a spice that I couldn't identify) and the sauce of the chicken scarpariello was thick and pungent. The artichokes were credible. I will definitely try it again because of the rave reviews.

Whether you want a good lunch or dinner you can't find a bettere place than this. great sandwiches and great salads and great take home entrees - in the summer if you can't get a reservation anywhere or you just want to relax at home with your own wine you can't do better then to gt food from villa italian

Creative, delicious sandwiches at reasonable prices

It's no wonder townies and tourists alike crowd this place - there is an extensive menu of reasonably priced, huge, creative sandwiches using top-notch ingredients, along with a small deli case and a large refrigerated section of ready-to-eat and cook-at-home foods, ingredients like fresh mozzarella and salumi, and beverages. Oh, and a serve-yourself display of Italian cookies and shelves of pastas, sauces, oils, etc. This place is packed with food and people and the wait can be long, but Villa Italian (a/k/a The Pork Store) is so worth it.

Really Good Sandwiches!

Villa's sandwiches are DYNAMITE. Everything I've ever ordered and tasted there is good. Often times, I'll put in an order for a custom salad because it's lighter than a sandwich. It's nice that amidst all those hearty sandwiches they do have stuff that is less filling. Sometimes it's a little confusing to put in your order for the salad because you don't know whether to leave it on the counter for them or hand it directly to them if they're not waiting for it right there. If you're not starving, but don't want a salad, they do half-sizes there on their sandwiches! Otherwise, the man who I presume is the owner, is there often which is nice. He's super friendly and seems to have a lot of regulars because he knows his customers.
