What a great bakery! So much to choose. They have a lovely selection of cakes, pies, cookies, and candies. And breads too. I bought a mini key lime pie, mini pavlova, elephant ears, and a chocolate cake slice to take home. All homemade and delicious. On the deli side my chicken salad was freshly made with grapes and apples, on homemade bread. Husband got a grilled turkey with peppers and cheese. Their quiches looked amazing but that will have to wait for next time.

My friend and I spent 4 days in the FLX region where we were vending at the FLX Wine Festival in Watkins Glen. On our last day there , which was a Monday, we took the extra day to hike Watkins Glen and spend some time exploring. After the hike, we were starving and desperate for lunch and a place to rest and relax. We found that 90% of the wineries in the area either had no form of food service or were closed on a Monday. I know it's Monday, but geez, this area was teeming with visitors mid-summer. After some searching online, we stumbled onto Tabora which stated that they had a deli and bakery. So we headed over and ordered sandwiches, salads and a desert from the deli counter and ate them outside on the covered rear porch area. What a delight! Everything was very very good! We also bought a bottle of their Rose wine to have with lunch and we really enjoyed it. As we were leaving and standing in line to buy another bottle of the Rose to take with us, we ran into some other patrons who were talking about the wine tasting they had just done in another building across the parking area. They suggested we go do it and said the woman working there was very knowledgeable, so we decided to give it a try. We walked into the lovely big barn area where they do tastings and found we were the only ones there except for Jean who was behind the bar. We had the bar all to ourselves so we saddled up and told Jean about the rave review she had just received across the way. We chuckled and then, she served up two flights of wines that were really surprisingly excellent! AND, she was, in fact, very knowledgeable about each one and really added to the experience with descriptions and suggestions! After about an hour of delightful wines and conversation, we ended up joining their wine club, buying a case of wine and had a memorable experience enhanced by conversation with Jean who we found to be a kindred soul. She even carried the case of wine to our car for us. We will be back in the area next year for the festival and this will definitely be our go to spot and we will be ordering wine from them the rest of the year. Many thanks to Tabora for serving lunch and to Jean for a wonderful afternoon!

If you're looking for a wonderful deli for breakfast in the Finger Lakes region, look no further than this delightful eatery. Scrumptious, delicious, fantastic ... these are some of the superlatives this wonderful establishment deserves. I ordered the breakfast sandwich. My wife and daughters ordered the quiche, made with farm fresh eggs, local cheeses and spices. Quiche lovers will be overwhelmed at the selections, all delicious and wonderfully filling. Not to leave out the pastries, pies and breads. And after all this, you can walk across the parking lot to the wine tasting. A gem just off the main drag (highway 14) a ten minute drive north from Watkins Glen, this eatery is a must for any serious foodies. Enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

We stopped here around 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoon. When placing our orders (sandwiches) we were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait because they had been having some problems. Fine. Except people in our group who ordered non-grill items got their food in about 10 minutes. I had asked for a cold sandwich, which still took about 30 minutes. In addition, what I got was a ham sandwich with a miniscule amount of lunchmeat on it. One person in our party had ordered a sandwich with chicken that was only on one half of the sandwich. To top it all off, I paid nearly $17 for my slim sandwich, a bag of potato chips and 2 warm diet cokes (fridge was empty and there was no ice). Baked goods looked nice, but I wasn't interested in spending any more money here.

A cute place with good deli food, worth the stop. My only issue is I was overcharged for a medium soup I didn’t order. I didn’t see it until I got to my hotel room that night and they were closed. I was leaving early the next day so I sent an email to customer service and included a copy of my receipt. No reply. Hence the 3 stars instead of 5.

Stopped off here to see how their bakery and deli items might supplement or even provide all of our own ingredients for a hotel room breakfast. We did find a few items, especially in the freshly baked and pre-packaged deli cheeses that worked well. Quality and prices o.k. Freshness a plus. A nice extra for a Finger Lakes weekend.

This was a great stop on Mothers Day. We did a tasting in the winery and then got lunch from the bakery/deli.
In both the winery and the bakery/deli, I feel like they provide a selection that is different from the other wineries in the area. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and gracious.
Add this to your trip to the finger lakes!

This is one of our favorite places for lunch. The portions are very generous and the food is excellent. We also like that it is a quiet place where we can sit on the outdoor deck and eat a in peace. Order food at the deli counter and pick it up when it is ready. You also must try some of their baked goods. They are to die for.

After a morning of wine tasting, we needed a light lunch. The winery suggested Tabora. My wife and I split an artisan sandwich and browsed (it takes a while to get the sandwiches made). Lots of great baked goods on display, so we grabbed some for the next day's breakfast at our inn (which did not offer a real breakfast). If you plan on dining at Tabora this time of year (winter/fall), bring a jacket because there isn't really a dining room; just outdoor with heaters. The sandwich and bread were fresh and quite good. This would be a great place from which to pack a picnic for a day of wine tasting.

We did a vineyard tour after calling to schedule due to less than one week notice. The tour was SO educational, relaxed, and we had tastings along the way while standing beside Aurora hybrids and I believe Concord grapes. Both whites and reds were on the menu with a very healthy portion of assorted meats, cheeses and nuts with more sampling after the outdoor tour. The vintner was educated, easy to listen to, passionate about the vineyard. Definite must do!

Writing mainly about the cafe/bakery here…disappointed not to have had time to get to the winery (yet) but it looks very awesome and very worthy of our time.
A few of the locals recommended Tabora if you are looking for great sandwiches, soup, baked goods that are done on premise, etc. You will find all of this here! Whether wanting to take with you to eat while visiting a winery or just to have for a picnic lunch, this the place. Fresh and varied selections. Very nice staff as well… we have returned several times. Highly recommend!

Nice winery with an excellent bakery and deli. There are surprisingly few places to get a good lunch in the area, but one of the other wineries recommended Tabora and we’re glad they did. Excellent hot and cold sandwiches and fresh baked goods are available in their cafe.
Wine tastings are available in a nearby tasting room. It’s the type of winery that offers tastings based on choosing one of 4 predefined selections. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We stopped at Tabora on our last day in the Finger Lakes before driving back to NJ. Tabora was suggested by the Harbor Hotel concierge after asking her of a good place for freshly baked pies. It was a great suggestion. We purchased about $70 worth of goodies for ourselves and pet sitters. I just ate their chocolate chip-espresso-pecan cookie, and it was excellent. Ginger cookies were equally tasty. Breakfast sandwiches were delicious. I froze their sourdough, rye/pumpernickel and cranberry/pecan for later consumption. NYC prices but made with high quality ingredients and by locals.
We also enjoyed a flight of their white wines in the tasting room. We were the first ones, and Keith did a great job explaining the grapes we were drinking. These aren’t serious wines. But as my GF said, who is a middle school teacher, it is perfect for opening at the end of an exhausting week.

We visited to the winery for a tasting. Big mistake! The quality of wine was below standard for the Finger Lakes, and the server Keith talked far more about himself than the wine. Fortunately, in great contrast, the bakery was excellent.

Before the pandemic, Tabora was great, with superb selection and service covering a wide array of bakery and deli offerings. The pandemic has hit them hard, and their offerings are limited, and their service has really suffered. They benefit because of the lack of competition locally, but one hopes they will improve when the pandemic is over. But if you decide to patronize them now you have to take the bad with the good. Be forewarned.
