Today (2/28/20) will be our fourth visit to this restaurant. All of our previous visits were pleasant and filling. It's never been an issue getting a table as the restaurant is a good size for the area.
Service can be a bit slow but not...to the point of being a problem. The appetizers have always been served hot and were very tasty.
I particularly enjoy the scallion pancakes here - they are crispy, light and far better than most others we have had from other places where they were much more dense and chewy. We also like the Vietnamese spring rolls and the Honey back ribs. The Dim Sum Sampler can be hit or miss depending on how busy it is.
We have tried several of the standard Beef, Chicken and Shrimp entrees and all have been very good and I would order any of them again. Portions are acceptable but you wont be taking home a "second meal" (maybe a good second snack).
I would certainly recommend this place to friends for an evening out because it is one of the few real "sit-down" Asian places around.
The decor is traditional yet modern and has been clean on all of our visits. If we have an issue this evening I'll be sure to update this review.More
I've eaten here a few times with my family and it's always quite good. The service can sometimes be a slow, but nothing that's a distraction. The Pork Buns are really good and they can be hard to find at some places. This place is...right next to the Hilton Garden Inn which makes it a perfect walk to destination. Each time we stay at the HGI, we always hit up Buddha Asian Bistro and have never been disappointed.More
It was a Saturday night and there were lots of people there. They did find us a seat promptly even without a reservation. There were a couple of very noisy childrens' parties going on. The main problem was that about half of the servers could...not speak English and were borderline rude. The other half were very good. The sushi had only small amounts of fish compared to lots of rice.More
We had dumplings - poor choice for us - we found them gelatinous with uninteresting fillings.
My hot and sour soup was the kind you could buy frozen. Matter of fact,
I think I could buy a Trader Joe's or Whole Food's Asian frozen entree...& have a meal that was the equal of what I had here.More
Staff at this restaurant were friendly and welcoming. We came in towards the end of a busy night and they couldn’t have been any nicer. Menu was probably too much - they’d be better off narrowing their focus and doing it better overall. The sushi...rolls were delicious, creative and plentiful. Skip the Thai soups which were unremarkable. The crispy duck salad looked mainly like leftover duck fat with little actual meat. While it was tasty at first, it was a bit too fatty. Nice drink menu, pretty martini and reasonably priced for the size. Big space so not an intimate restaurant but would be fun with a group. We will definitely go back but just stick with the sushi, which they seem to have right.More
Located in Rivertowns Square, just off the Saw Mill Parkway in Dobbs Ferry, this Asian restaurant is very convenient for local residents, guests of the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, employees in the area, and users of the New York SportsClubs (that's us) across the street....The dining room is spacious and has nice eye appeal. The menu offers various Asian cuisines. There is a special lunch menu with a very reasonable price. The management of the restaurant is very accommodating. Although our group filled two long tables, each person was able to order whatever they wanted and we were all given individual checks! Not everyone was happy. Some food wasn't hot enough; one woman didn't get what she ordered until she asked several times and finally got it after most people had finished eating. I ordered salad instead of soup to start and the lettuce hadn't been drained well, so the dressing was watery. But the sushi rolls I ordered were delicious.More
One of two or three in a chain. The food is okay but undistinguished. It tried to offer Japanese, Chinese, Korean and maybe Thai and other Asian cuisines as well and doesn't excel at any of them. None of it is bad, but nothing is...exciting either,
We go from time to time and are always reminded of excellent take places in Manhattan. This wouldn't be one of them.
The service is very good. The atmosphere is quiet although the place is huge and can handle a horde. It's glitzy and probably a good place to have a birthday party.More
