We stopped in with a party of 8 and everyone was happy with their meals. Nobody left hunger because the portions were large. The meal prices were also good. The menu is huge and there should be something for everyone, even if you have picky...eaters. I will definitely go there again. I had the beef on weck and wing combo.More

We recently booked this venue for a wake breakfast. We had gone online and compared several places. My daughter called and spoke with the banquet manager and made all the arrangements. She was informed that there would be an 18% service charge added to the...bill. This did not surprise us since large parties often have an 18% gratuity automatically added to the bill. The breakfast went fine and when we received the bill it did in fact have an 18% charge added. The server however told us that this did not include gratuity. We were a bit dumbfounded over what the charge was for then. We spoke with the banquet manager and were told that the charge was for the room rental and the linens. We had never heard of renting a banquet room on a percentage basis. As for the linens, I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we were not also charged for silverware rental! The banquet manager told us that this was a new policy and it was explained in the printed banquet information brochure. We told her we did not receive a copy of the printed brochure and that this was not explained to us and it was also not on their website as part of the banquet information. Nonetheless, she would make no exceptions and instead threw the server under the bus saying that we could do what ever we wanted about taking care of her gratuity. We definitely did not want to stiff the server and took care of her for the great service we received. The server explained to us that many other servers no longer wanted to work banquets because of this policy and getting left without any tips. At least we were not alone in our thinking! In light of the lawsuit recently filed against the Crowne Plaza Hotel for the same deceptive business practice I would hope that the owners of the Forestview see fit to make some changes before they too end up being sued. It is disrespectful to the customers and the servers to have a policy like this.More

After a hike at nearby Reinstein Woods, my family and I were looking for a quick place for lunch but were indecisive. We decided to play a game and eat at the next restaurant we saw on Transit Road. We happened to be in Depew...and saw Forestview Restaurant. None of us had eaten there before and assumed it was a Greek place from the outside (no explanation for why). The parking lot had a few cars, and the restaurant only had 1 or 2 tables with people at them. Pretty nice decor and has a bakery inside. The menu is extensive with many options. Service was polite and courteous but slow with napkins and condiments taking a while to arrive after our food did. No complaints about meals, but nothing stood out either. Everything was served as ordered and hot. Packaged cookie that came with child's meal was not edible - just terrible. We threw it out. With so many options in WNY, we probably wouldn't go back.More

I was surprised that had I arrived during "kids eat free" Wednesday, but that is only valid with entree order for each adult and a drink order. Fair enough, but the food was awful and even the friendly magician could not make me go back. My...children enjoyed there pizza.More

I was searching for any restaurant which had biscuits and gravy and found Forestview last night. I visited at approximately 9:30 in the morning, the restaurant wasn't crowded. They had a specials menu and biscuits and gravy with two eggs was listed for $6.95. I...thought this was a good deal, so I ordered along with a side of Sausage. When they brought the food, there was two biscuits which had a sausage patty in each biscuit? and the biscuits had a dollop of gravy on each biscuit? I said there wasn't enough gravy, so she brought me a small bowl (maybe one ounce), which should have come with biscuits and gravy. This still wasn't enough gravy, but I realized it's Buffalo and biscuits and gravy is probably not very popular here, so I didn't ask for more. I finished my breakfast and they gave me the check, which included a charge for extra gravy (they didn't give enough to start with!) I mentioned this to my waitress and she said I'm just the waitress, not the cook? The bill came to $13.95, so I guess don't ask for any extras or they'll stick it to you.More
