My husband and I recently revisited Tools for breakfast. Tools is a long standing fixture in Delmar. The decor is in need of an update. It is a diner with no frills and little personality. If you want a standard eggs and toast breakfast. It's fine. Do not expect anything else.

I've been going to Tool's since I was a kid. Excellent breakfasts. I don't really eat lunch or dinner there since turning vegan, but I used to really enjoy dinners there (and breakfast) when I was taking care of my dad. Yes, it's a blue-hair place mainly, but they know good food. The prices are good, the portions are reasonable,... More

Stopped at Tool's for lunch and were pleasantly surprised! Server was friendly and knew the menu, my grilled cheese & tomato sandwich was tasty and plentiful, DH had his usual Reuben which he pronounced very good. The Reuben was not huge but it was sufficient. No complaints. We'll be back. BTW, restroom was clean, too.

The most rotten service in all of NY. The waitress was the nasty piece of work I have ever meet. Over priced, bad food and nasty beast of a waitress. Almost called the cops when she threw my money at me. Beware!! If you like to be sick all day, in the bathroom and over pay for it and be... More

This is the type of small town restaurant that everyone loves. The staff know everyone by name and know what they order. We feel like family here and you can't beat the prices. While the food is not gourmet it doesn't need to be. The options and specials always change and you will always enjoy your time here.

The facility was clean, service was quick. Breakfast menu was varied, prices were par. Omelet [ham and cheese] was cooked well, eggs and sausage both were good. Toast was soggy, home fries were not crispy as requested.....tons of onions. Overall good breakfast, fair price, clean place and good service. Breakfast for two all in $20.83 including tip.

Ate lunch here with my 15 year old daughter a few days ago. She ordered a chocolate shake which didn't end up coming until the END of the meal and was not made well. We were told by the waitress that "the shake machine is broken, it sprayed all over the place." Okay, fine, but then she could have told... More

We were driving by and stopped for lunch. It was nothing more than average so don't go out of way to go here to eat. The place is dingy - you have to be desperate to use the restroom.

Stopped by for a Sunday brunch. Clean, quiet, immediately seated and served. Reasonably-priced and pleasant staff.
