Been there twice. A bit in the middle of nowhere but that's ok. Keep it to ourselves. Some of the best mussels we've ever had and fantastic burgers. Nice service and also discovered a local wine from their list. Early dinner on a weekday makes...it easy to get in.More

Live in the area and for one reason or another just never had this cozy French-American restaurant on our radar but now we do. It is a little off the beaten path but worth the find. We sat at an inside table of 4 on...an early Saturday night without a reservation. The menu was expansive with so many flavors to tempt the taste buds. We started with escargot and salads, then to chicken cordon blue, scallops and burgers. Everything was delicious and plentiful. We will be back! Enjoy.More

Charming spot for a little dinner while at Sannino B&B. New England Clam Chowder was amazing as was the wonderful homemade warm bread. Can’t forget the delicious Chardonnay by the glass. Diverse menu and really wonderful waitress.

Red Rooster Bistro is a casual dining spot with a very relaxed atmosphere that serves excellent home cooked meals. The portions are ample and the quality of the food is what you would expect to eat at moms house. We were also pleased with the...courteous service and attention to detail. An excellent choice if you need a place to dine in Cutchogue, NY.More

Generous portions - you will be well fed. We shared two entries and left not hungry at all. Eggplant rollatini was the favorite. But! Atmosphere is king here. Cozy, friendly, good for groups or dates; I was in love with all the little figurines and...decorations.More

We were two couples for dinner over the President's Week weekend. The couple we went with and with whom we were visiting had been here many more times than we had. We had only previously only been for breakfast and brunch, which was good, but...not particularly memorable. The dinners we all had this weekend were especially memorable. Of note was the New England Clam Chowder of which I happen to fancy myself as something of an aficionado, having grown up in MA, and having a point made of sampling chowders claiming to be superior. The Red Rooster's chowder was not only uniquely seasoned, it was among the best chowder I have ever had. I highly recommend it. Dinner entrees were all very well prepared, nicely presented, delicious and the serving portions were generous. Service was professional. We had entrees of salmon, blue crab ravioli, flounder and chicken Milanese. We will most definitely return.More

This is my second visit to this restaurant. This visit I ordered the New England clam chowder which was good. We both ordered the chicken Milanese. The salad and chicken were both good. The chicken cutlet is fried. I normally do not eat fried chicken...cutlet but this was tasty and was good for a change of pace. At the end of the meal, our waiter Patrick gave us our bill. I place my credit card in the folder, however, it was taken by another waitress not the water who was serving us. She returned the card wrapped in the credit card receipt along with the merchants receipt. I placed the tip on the merchants receipt and then took the card and the customer receipt wrapped around the card and put them into my wallet. A problem that arose after my visit to the Red Rooster was my credit card. You see the next day I went to purchase gas and took the card out of my wallet and realized that the credit card was not mine. The last place my card was used was at the Red Rooster. We immediately called the Red Rooster and asked to speak to the manager. We explained the situation to her that I was given another customers credit card by the waitress and the other customer probably has my card. The manager called us back twice advising us that she left a message on the other customers voice mail telling him that he was given the wrong credit card by the waitress. I’m not sure how she got his phone number she may have googled his name and hoped that the number she got was his. We offered to bring the other customers credit card and credit card receipt back to the restaurant. We drove back to the restaurant later that day...it was dark, rainy, windy and cold but it was the right thing to do for the other customer. We met the manager and gave her the other customers credit card and receipt. She was concerned that I was given the wrong card back on one hand but then in the next breathe made a comment like what do you want me to do to the waitress. That was a strange comment to make to me since this whole credit card mess was do to her staff not me. Three days later and I have not heard from the manager about my credit card. So in the interim I contacted the credit card company to cancel my card. Now I have to contact all the merchants who automatically charge my card for payments such as oil companies etc. This screw up by the staff at Red Rooster is a pain in the neck and a big inconvenience to me. I DID NOT cause this but I have the results of their mistake. The manager wasn’t apologetic for their mistake. Not even “ I’m sorry !”. I drove through horrible weather to return the other customers card and the manager never apologized and didn’t even offer me a drink for my inconvenience. She should have done something as a good will gesture. Very Poor management skills. All she said was this has never happened before. She was trying to defend herself and the restaurant. It did happen and the waitress who made the error was at the restaurant when I returned the credit card and she admitted she made an error.More
