Lovely surrounding, nice table setting with cloth napkins for lunch. Food was good, especially the warm spinach salad. The only reason I did not give it a 5, was the server/hostess was curt and unfriendly.

Not easy to spot but there is an inn tucked above “Burgers and Beer of Corning” (formerly the Gaffer Grill) right in the heart of the historic Gaffer District. This lodging is somewhat unconventional. There is no lobby; check in at restaurant below. All rooms...More
The food was delicious, but the service entirely too slow!!!! Two servers for a full dining room, we had to wait to be seated at least 10 minutes, no one noticed us! Never had this problem before here. Servers busy putting away silverware, setting tables,...More
These are four beautiful rooms above the Gaffer Grille. Very nicely appointed, very nicely decorated and it feels like a good choice as soon as you enter your room. Only two downsides - our room was not serviced between day one and day two of...More
We stayed at the Inn upstairs, and walked down for a late night bite to eat. Everything was delicious, minus my pork being a little over done...but still tasty. The Beer selection is also great!
Ate at the Grille since staying at the Inn. We both ordered beef or steak. Sides were OK, but my prime rib (med-rare) arrived cold. I tend not to like things (e.g. soup, coffee, stew) to be overly hot but this was way below standard...More
Brought my cousin from California to this fine establishment. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I really like the large selection of beers on tap. And the beer is always cold.
My husband and I stopped here for dinner on a Monday night, on our way back to Rochester from Harrisburg, PA. The ambience was very good, but a little too dark at the booth, so we moved to a table where the light was better....More
Supposedly one of the better restaurants in the Market District. Looks first class, with tablecloths. Service was good. Prices seemed to be high on the "special" of the day, a 10oz sirloin with cheese and tomato sauce for $34.05...I didn't weigh it, but it was...More
Definitely above "average" but had a few quirks, so overall couldn't rate as "very good", yet had some "excellent" features. The pros: spacious!, always appreciate wooden floors, comfy bed, large bathroom, location, location, location. The cons: weekday parking required some forethought if you don't like to...More
