This was the second time we have been at Gaffer. 2 years ago (2014) we ate here and knew the food & beer were good. The first time we had the petite filet which was just enough food, with whipped potatoes and green beans. Crème burlee for dessert. This time we had the pork tenderloins with a blueberry, jalapeno glaze,... More

Isaac our server was great. Food was not edible. Cold soup. To bad we have had good meals before. Cook needs to sharpen his or her pencil. Probably won't return.

Rolled into town before our room at the Comfort Inn was ready and the clerk pointed us to Market St. to kill a couple hours. On a whim walked in to the Gaffer Grille and were pleasantly surprised. Nice décor, attentive servers, and good panini sandwiches. Mine a Reuben, hers a turkey with avocado; washed down with a couple of... More

This was one of several restaurants suggested by the folks at the Comfort Inn in downtown Corning. Located right in the middle of a lively Market Street scene, it was a great stop for travelers passing through. Good food, friendly, prompt service.

We had a good dinner, a hamburger and a buffalo chicken wrap. The chips that accompany the sandwiches are delicious, take them instead of upgrading to fries.

I've always liked this place for its food and atmosphere, but I absolutely refuse to go back if Marci is still working there. She's rude, obnoxious, and has a habit of generously increasing her tips while running credit cards. I try to be fair, and I realize that everyone has a bad day here and there, but her attitude is... We ate lunch here recently and enjoyed it. Both employees with whom we had contact were friendly and helpful. The service was quick and the food was good. I had a cheeseburger with chips and a draft beer. My wife had a steak with fries and a mixed drink. Each item was prepared as ordered and very good. I recommend... More

Delicious food highly recommend fish and chips. Brisket was also amazing. Sweet potato fries and steak fries also very good. Will definitely be back in the future if in the area.

Food was just fine- not bad, but not great either. I had the blackened mahi mahi. It wasn't bad but not much better than eating at an Applebee's or some other mediocre chain restaurant. The service however, was excellent.

On our way from Niagara Falls, headed back to NYC, we stopped in Corning, NY for dinner. We found Corning to be cute, and filled with many dining options. We were fortunate to pick The Gaffer, as it was warm, welcoming, and had a diverse menu. We started with a chicken wing, cream cheese, nacho dip as an appetizer. Then... More
