While visiting Corning, we ate here to celebrate a birthday. The food and cocktails were very good. One tip: Book a reservation (the night we were there, they were turning people away who did not previously make reservations because they were booked solid). We also...liked that they sat us by the windows (which were open) so that we could "people watch" why eating. They also have a huge bar which looked really nice. It's a nice place to have a romantic dinner.More

Passing through Corning, and after spending the afternoon at the Museum of Glass, we looked for a restaurant for dinner. The reviews for Three Birds were very positive, so we made a reservation there. It proved to be a great choice. It's on the main...downtown street, Market Street, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places; the nineteenth-century commercial buildings on the street have been rehabilitated for modern use. The interior of Three Birds has been updated nicely; some of the original (I suppose) red brick walls are visible in places but the main dining area has warm Louis XIV-style walls hung with large framed paintings, a wide window onto the streetscape, and tables draped with tablecloths. (The menu prices reflect the extra elegance of the tablecloths!) We were seated quite near the window, which was a lovely place to be. The menu signals gluten-free and vegetarian options, which is a welcome feature. But there aren't a great many gluten-free options. My wife, who is gluten-free, chose the fish soup (lobster broth and seafood) and the maple leaf duck breast; for my main I chose a daily special, grilled wahoo, a meaty and extremely nice white fish. Both were high quality and prepared to first-class standards. Pretty much everything, however, seemed too salty to us. The portions were substantial. My wife had mulled over the possibility of ordering rack of lamb, but when she saw an order of rack of lamb delivered to another table, with seven meaty ribs, she was glad that she hadn't chosen a meal so large. These weren't budget entrées ($30 and $34) but given the quality we thought that they were reasonable value. And the soup ($5 for a cup) and the drinks ($3.50 for a draft beer) were surprisingly modestly priced. Service was very friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and suitably attentive. We haven't eaten out very much since the pandemic began, but this was certainly among the best, and probably the best, meal that we've had in a couple of years.More

This is THE only place to eat in Corning! Amazing food, drinks and service. Faith was the consummate server taking care of everything without hovering - she knows the menu by heart and can recommend items. The bar drinks were outstanding (Old Fashioned and Cucumber...Martini) and the entrees were cooked perfectly (hanger steak and Rack of Lamb - a full 8 rib rack!). Fine dining.More

In Corning NY for Glass, of course, but everyone needs to eat. Seated and served by Michelle, we dine on exquisite baked Brie, toasted almonds, and seasonal fruits followed by a New Zealand rack of lamb and a beef tenderloin that were cooked as ordered!,...and accompanied by a delightful Italian 2016 Valpolicella Ripassa . Finishing with a creme brûlée, a very special evening was had!, Michelle and support staff earning at least three Michelin stars for the Three Birds!More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our innkeeper and I'm so glad that we went. It is the best. My partner and I started with camembert en croute, followed by their signature dishes: pork tenderloin and rack of lamb, and they were excellent. For...dessert we shared a tiramisu. I would highly recommend this restaurant--as well as booking ahead.More

We loved the interior, the staff was friendly and helpful. The main course was a bit slow coming out. Food was tasty - just a bit heavy on the sauces which also interfered with presentation. Definitely would return.

We enjoyed sitting at the bar. It is a very nice and relaxed restaurant. They serve fresh oysters. The crab cake was great. Main meals were creative and well prepared.

We were visiting Corning, and based on Trip Advisor info, we decided to try Three Birds. We were not disappointed. We started off with martinis, and that probably was the weakest part of the meal. They simply did not seem well-balanced. But we moved on...to a glass of wine, and TB has a very nice selection. I tried the spiedini (an Upstate NY classic), and my partner had a steak. Both were delicious. For dessert, we chose the creme brulee, which was an excellent way to finish the meal. All in all, it was a very relaxing evening. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very subdued, and you are surrounded by lovely landscape paintings. The service was excellent, and I would definitely recommend Three Birds for a memorable dinner experience.More

We had a great table for two in the back room by the fireplace. Michelle was a...great server. She was very attentive and so much fun!! The food was out of this world. Thank you for offering a beautifully prepared gluten free pork tenderloin. This is difficult to find in Corning. As someone with Celiac disease, this can be challenging.

We arrived to Corning to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. I booked a table for dinner time. We ordered oysters, duck special appetizer, rib eye steak, duck as a main dish and a rack of lamb. Everything was very delicious. The portions were great but...not over sized. We enjoyed our family time.More

We sat upstairs and our server was wonderful. I can't remember her name, but she is also a preschool teacher. The food was excellent and she managed several tables with ease. The prices are high, but the food and the service was worth the $$$.

Best restaurant of our five days trip. We ate at the bar in a busy Friday night. Wine list is excellent: never had a Piedmont Barbera Rose previously, the two Finger Lakes Riesling were outstanding that three days we bought a couple bottles of Riesling...from Forge Cellars Winery near Watkins Glen. Bartender has worked there 15 years and four years prior at another Corning restaurant- classic guy effective, efficient, and friendly. We began with garlic humus, salad was Citrus and Bibbs: nice diversity raw watermelon relish, goat cheese, red onion, walnuts and orange slices. Next we had the watermelon relish as a heated side with our Mahi Mahi, lime risotto, and coconut kaffir. Highly recommend enjoying meal here.More

What a nice surprise! From the time we walked in without a reservation, the hostess was wonderful and made a table for us immediately to our fun and attentive waitress, we had a great experience! My fiancé had the tenderloin and I had the flat...iron steak. Both cooked to perfection and the great presentation. Our cocktails were perfect! We finished with the creme brûlée. Yumm! The stores in the area were sweet and there is a lot of foot traffic. Highly recommend this restaurant!More
