My sister and I stopped here for lunch while we were visiting family nearby. The views of Lake Otsego were just beautiful. The staff was friendly and polite. But the best part? The food!!! The coconut shrimp was amazing and for an appetizer, they give you a decent amount. I had the fish tacos and my sister had the shrimp... More

Loved the atmosphere of this boatyard buried gem that unless you are searching, you'd drive right past the place. Went for lunch with the family and loved the food, the atmosphere is perfect and the music soundtrack was stolen from my Sunday morning mix of chill acoustic music. This is more than a burger joint on the water. Their lunch... More

Restaurant located directly on Lake Otsego in Cooperstown. Breathtaking views of the lake. In a party of 4, we ordered Fish Tacos( excellent!) Caeser Salad with Lobster Salad ( very meaty and plenty of large chunks of lobster), Hamburger ( a good size) and a Jumbo Kosher Hot Dog. We also tried the soup of the day, Creamy Tomato soup... We've visited the Blue Mingo regularly every summer for the past 12 years. The setting (waterside, located at Sam Smith's Boatyard on Lake Otsego) is far and away the most delightful dining spot in the Cooperstown area. Most years, the food is quite good; however, they hire different chefs almost every season, so last year's performance is no guarantee of... More

Used to go to this place 3-5 times a summer. First and last visit last week was disappointing at best. Setting and atmosphere along with service was still great, but food was very disappointing across the board. Lunch experience was the same a few weeks prior. Can only attribute the drop in food quality to a change in chef's. I... More

Dining on the lake at the Blue Mingo is a great summertime experience. You are literally on the water and the views are spectacular. It's close to Glimmerglass and a combination of the two makes for a memorable evening! The food is very good. This time we had the mussels (not quite hot enough) the coconut shrimp (awesome!) crab cakes... More

If you are looking for atmosphere , this is the place. It is expensive , but Fine Dinning all the way. Although , you can get sandwiches. I had the Lamb , and it was cooked well and I also has Potstickers as an appetizer . Beautiful view of the Lake.

This grill is tucked away down a road along the lake. It's a beautiful setting with boats and ducks and good food. Lots of seating on the patio and the lower level by the boats. The tuna was delicious with a nice wasabi sauce. The baby back tubs were tender and tasty. The key lime pie custard was perfect in... More

I'm a pretty rough critic when it comes to dining. I'll admit I never post reviews because I never feel like the restaurant deserves it. However, Blue Mingo won my heart the other night with a delicious salmon dish they dubbed "Jail House Salmon"... The flavors of of the chili grilled salmon mixed with lime creme and that beautiful rice... More
