We visited Cooperstown over a weekend that was enhanced by 6" of snow (1-3" were originally called for). A lot of the restaurants in town closed early due to weather (we live in Pennsylvania so this isn't a new idea to us) but Toscana's stayed open and was well-recommended by the owner of our B&B.
We were a little put off by the prices, but again, we live near a tourist town so we know this is usually the case. We also realized that this wasn't a chain Italian restaurant...these entrees were made from scratch.
We started with calamari served piping hot with a delicious pomodoro sauce for dipping. The breading didn't have much flavor but the sauce made up for it. Soft hot bread was served with olive oil prior to the meal. My fiancé opted for the lobster ravioli while I had the veal sorrento (veal topped with eggplant, pomodoro, and mozzarella). The veal was amazing and the portion can only be described as giant. I wasn't a big fan of the sauce on the pasta, but I liked that it was a small pasta (penne) and therefore not as messy. We ended up taking some of the ravioli, half of the veal, and all of the penne with us. We ended the evening with cannoli for him and chocolate mousse. The mousse was rich and melted on my tongue, but I'm not sure I consider it worth the price I was charged.
We were celebrating my fiancé's 50th birthday, and it was definitely a fine dining experience. As someone else mentioned in a recent review, the tables are VERY close together; you can literally reach over and eat off the plate of the person next to you if you so desire. My one true complaint, however, and the thing that really dropped my review down a star was the lighting. I realize this is the sort of place where one wants an "experience"...you want to linger over your meal, enjoy the ambiance. But I was very thankful that it was still light out when we arrived, because the overhead lamps were so dim that by the time we left, I would not have been able to read my menu due to the dim lighting.

Outstanding dinner at our favorite restaurant in Cooperstown. Restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Chicken Scarpariello special and the Shrimp and Scallops dinners were perfectly prepared. Server was helpful and attentive. We cannot wait until the next time we are in town so we can enjoy again the best Italian food in the area.

14 friends went to Toscana Restaurant last night, in Cooperstown NY. We were a Restaurants biggest nightmare, 14 people walking in at 8 in the evening! They not only graciously accommodated us, gave us two incredible large bottles of wine, a Red and a White. Great way to start. We were all shocked, the service, the atmosphere, the service was beyond reproach!
Needless to say, we ordered so many various dinners, it was shocking that All dinners came out on time,,hot, great presentation, but more importantly exquisite tastes...
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone near Cooperstown! If close, drive over , as the cuisine was incredible. We left the servers an incredible tip, to show our appreciation! We will be back, without a doubt. It was the perfect ending to a glorious day in beautiful Cooperstown...

It’s always been excellent but not this time. It was only good. We called in the afternoon for rsvp for 6. We were told the only availability was 8:30pm and we said ok have our name. We called again to add a guest to 7 around 5pm and were told we had no reservation but eventually added the rsvp. When we got there, most of the specials were gone as well as some staples from the menu. Four of us ordered the chicken scarpiello. When the food came the only thing in it that resembled the dish was the chicken. It was mostly pasta chicken and random veggies. No cherry peppers etc. Needless to say they were disappointed. It seemed like they ran out of food. They never should have taken the reservation if they could provide the same service. The staff was great as always that’s why I have it 3 stars. We will continue to eat here whenever in town because it is the best place in Cooperstown for a real Italian meal,

From start to finish, Toscana did not disappoint. Perfectly blended cocktails by our extremely knowledgeable & pleasant server Gigi to begin the evening, led by a not to be missed Red Sangria cocktail blended with a splash of local apple brandy & cinnamon. Fresh & flavorful Caesar salads with anchovy sides followed. The evening entrees included a pair of Chilean Sea Bass dishes, Tutti di Mare Fra diavolo and Ostrich Steak medallions, all of which were mouthwatering. Creme brulee & a tartufo filled with pistachio, vanilla and strawberry ice cream wrapped up our dining experience. A grill not to miss.

The service was impeccable! We had made a reservation and they called back to confirm and I was able to change to a different day. Then, one couple was not able to attend and we were held up at a local baseball tournament. I called and they adjusted out reservation from 6 to 4 and accommodated my request to arrive approximately 30 minutes later. When arrived, we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who made us feel welcome! The waitress took our drink orders after explaining all the drink specials. The drinks came quickly and then they explained the dinner and appetizer specials. I had the caprese salad which was very fresh served with a balsamic. The rest of the group ordered the wedge salad which they all enjoyed.
The entrees were wonderful; all were specials. One member of the party had the tuna which he said was perfect. Two others in the group had the Bolognese with pasta which they also enjoyed immensely! I had the Chilean sea bass served with capers and white wine and also a lobster sauce; it was excellent!
The desserts were also fresh and delicious; as well as, the espresso and cappuccino!
If you go to Cooperstown, do yourself a favor and eat here; you won’t regret your choice!

We had a great dinner at Toscana. My wife started with a grapefruit martini that was very tasty. I know, you want to hear about the food…
Fried calamari was spot on, the perfect mix of crispy yet lightly fried. We also started with the Burrata, which was also good.
Main dishes were excellent. My wife had the ahi tuna special, and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection and unconventionally thinly sliced, which was very good.
Chocolate mousse and green apple sorbet were great dessert choices.
Our server Gigi was excellent and sweet.
Our only complaint was that the meal was rushed. Appetizers came out super quick and main course was brought to the table immediately after appetizers were cleared. For a $250 dinner, I prefer not to be rushed.

Four of us in Cooperstown for the HOF induction weekend made reservations at Toscana a few weeks in advance after reading reviews on TA. While we had an 8 pm reservation, we happened to be walking by the restaurant at 7:15 and took a chance that they could seat us earlier. Without any thought, they were able to accommodate us. From there, everything was great. Our waitress (Jenn?) was helpful, responsive and entertaining. Everyone loved their dinner choices, the wine was very good and the atmosphere - while a little loud maybe for some - added to the meal. I would certainly recommend Toscana's for anyone visiting Cooperstown.

From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by Tony. We told him we were celebrating our 40th anniversary. Shortly after seating us a large group with children were seated next to us. Tony motioned to us to get up and he moved us to a table in the back and lucky for us Lizz was our waitress.
We started our meal with the Burrata app which was exquisite followed by Chicken Parmigiana and Fruita de Mare.
Both perfectly cooked and delicious. The level of service and attention to detail really made us feel like we were the only patrons. We were not rushed at all. Thanks for making our dinner perfect Lizz!

We were a party of three who dined on a Sunday evening in mid June 2022. We had called to see if a reservation was being necessary, but we were told that seating was immediately available, so given our 10 minute driving distance, left immediately and were seated just as soon as we arrived. We ordered one item from the specials menu - a braised beef-based ravioli dish, veal sorrentino with a side of penne, and a pasta carbonara. The pasta dishes were all sauced with a truly outstanding vodka sauce, and the veal was cooked perfectly with a relatively thin, unobtrusive breading. Each dish was truly outstanding, overly generous, (three carry out containers accompanied us on departure). Our server, Isabella, did an outstanding of taking care of us. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

The food and service were so good we came back a second night. Isabella and Gigi were awesome! Oh and the food….as if we were in Little Italy in Boston or NYC or MD as good if not better. Highly recommend….The Veal Chop to die for. My wife who can’t eat meat or wheat had the Chilean Sea Bass and couldn’t finish cause there was so much. 2nd nite was just the same. OSSO BUCCO was unbelievable. Very attentive to allergies.
Check them out!

Consistent quality and diversity of cuisine. We had friends come to visit recently. I could not think of any better restaurant. There were seven of us. They served us an incredible appetizer, Thin burrata cheese , a sauted shrimp, with a grilled scallop on top. Some indescribable light sauce. With a great bottle of Pinot Noir , it was heavenly.
All the dinners were fabulous, what a great start, to an enjoyable evening!
I cannot say enough about this fabulous restaurant! Try it, unreal..

Made reservations for 4 the night before Derek Jeter’s HOF induction ceremony. Understandably, there was a crowd so they were very busy. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we didn’t get seated until around 8. The meals were great. My wife’s dinner was delayed, but our server gave my wife a salad on the house for her inconvenience. The noise level when full is quite loud. The restaurant is very narrow. I would dine there again.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Toscana. I enjoyed the mixed green salad with roasted vegetables and a huge portion of eggplant parmigiana. He got a mixed seafood appetizer that was the special that night and the salon entree. We were very happy with our selections. We shared a delicious creme brûlée for dessert. The service was outstanding: pleasant and professional. There was a very large group of diners who ordered right before us. We were concerned that it might take a long time for us to receive our dinners but the kitchen did a great job of getting everyone's food out in a timely manner. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

WOW! Just wow; we will never come back to Cooperstown and NOT go to Toscana. I feel like we have missed years of being able to have some of the best Italian around.
Appetizers on point. Special are so different, they are actually "special".
Such a nice atmosphere and our server Bella was great. We will request her next May.
Since I had a chilled seafood sampler for appetizer, which was amazing, I ended up going what most people would say is boring, Chicken Parmesan. HOLY MOLEY. Maybe the best Chx Parm I've ever had. Fantastic wine list. Limoncello after dinner hit the spot.
