The Black Cat is alright if you're into fried foods and loud people.I've been in a few times and was not too pleased with the atmosphere so never went back which is not to say it's a bad place it's just not for me.

We ordered delivery to my mom's place while visiting the city. Delivery was quick, and the food was really good. I got a quesadilla, my mom got nachos, and my aunt had a reuben, and they were all great. It's typical bar food, but tastier. We didn't go to the actual venue, so I can't comment on the vibe, but... Visited the last two Sunday's, Trina the bartender was great! Very friendly and accommodating and takes the time to talk to her customers without neglecting the rest. Food is pretty good for a little bar, mostly ordered fried foods, but still presented nicely and had flavor. Drinks are good, not weak. Prices fair. I enjoy supporting local businesses in Cohoes.

New owners have cut the menu. Still good food but miss Polish night. Can be noisy if the bar is full.

Great food and you get your money's worth here. Best boneless wings around, and the soups are out of this world.

Came here myself for a drink on a Friday night. I guess if they don't know you, you might have a hard time getting that drink from the bartender. Not a lot of patrons, and most seemed in a surly mood. I finally got my beer, punched it down, and hit the road...

My husband and I went for lunch the other day. The staff were very friendly and the food was average. We had a turkey club and a hot turkey sandwich. Both were good. The atmosphere is very outdated and very dusty! Otherwise we had a nice lunch.

Black Cat Ale House is an above average neighborhood tavern. The staff have always been welcoming. The chow and drinks have been very good and affordable. I'd recommend for lunch and dinner for sure.

The dinner we had at this place validated Murphy's Law in ways I never anticipated. When the waitress arrived to take our order, we were told that the first items we ordered were no longer available. So we searched for backup items. I ordered their super burger with sweet potato fries. Two of my friends ordered chicken breast stuffed with... More
