Relaxing meal

First time out after COVID 19. The restaurant is located right next to a marina. Lots of outdoor seating. For an app, we got the Calamari which was cooked perfectly and a large portion. The main courses consisted of the Broiled seafood Trio for $24.99 and the Coconut Crusted Mahi Mahi. It was just a 45 ride from Amsterdam. Nice decor, quick service and a nice dining experience.

Casula waterfront dining with tasty fish!

This casual restaurant, located on the Hudson River, offers dining inside as well as outside, both under a covered porch & at picnic tables. The decor inside is nautical, & there also are a lot of license plates displayed. As the chef has been dubbed the Calamari King, I ordered the Calamari Sampler which contained 3 varieties. The calamari was tasty & not greasy at all. My suggestion though is to serve the special dressings or toppings on the side (e.g., banana peppers & Chipotle Sauce). That way, you could choose to dip the calamari into the sauce or add the peppers as you ate & avoid the calamari getting SOGGY! One companion ordered fried whole belly clams & was very pleased with her choice. The fries, both regular & sweet potato, also were tasty. Their website states: "Capital Region Living Magazine has voted us Best Calamari, Best Lobster Mac n Cheese, Best Seafood Restaurant, Best Fish & Chips and Best Outdoor Dining in the Capital District by customers!" FYI, besides being known for fish, this restaurant was voted Judges & People's Choice Best BBQ Ribs at Troy Pig Out.

Great location on Hudson River

Location on Hudson River in the up and coming town of Coeymans is great. Staff were very attentive and main dining area inside is surprisingly huge. Lots of families and hopping on a Saturday evening at 6.30pm with live music. Unfortunately for us we did not like the food, too much oil on the calamari. Pasta dish with shrimp and scallops was quite good. I think it would make a great spot to stop in for a beer or several.

Great Food, Bustling Atmosphere

There was a group of 10 of us who ate here during a work trip. We made a reservation and I highly recommend that, as by 6:00 p.m. the place was packed! Service was quick, from greeting, to drinks, to ordering, and food delivery. I had the fish tacos, grilled - they came out fried but I did not send them back and enjoyed them either way. There was a generous portion of cole slaw on the tacos and the sauce was tasty too. I got a side of sweet potato fries. Others had some delicious looking meals too - lobster nachos, stuffed shrimp, chicken parm that could definitely serve 2 people! Plenty of options whether you like seafood or not. Cocktails were good. There are specialty ones listed that sounded really good, but even my basic tequila/seltzer was made great. When it came time for the check we had to split it 10 ways. They don't actually split the check but we collected cash and then told her what to charge the remaining credit cards. It was super easy and our waitress was quick. The location is through the tiniest little town with very small side streets heading down. The views of the river with the boats on it was pretty. Leaving I did notice how dark it was; in the parking lot but particularly when you go to pull out onto the street. I would definitely go back and visit again when I return to the area.

Great Staff

Went here on a Friday night had a great time. Since Covid haven’t experienced great service. The waiters and waitresses worked together and gave us awesome attention. All our food was amazing my 4 year old grand son was catered to by staff . Going back soon

Wow! Amazing farm to table food. Ordered the swordfish picatta and it can with the freshest carrots, purple cabbage, and green beans. Also delicious cocktails. And a view to f tue Hudson River to heat all.

We have eaten here many times. We love sitting outside on the deck. The beer was good. The mozzarella sticks were good. The staff was great. Usually the food is OK. Certainly not fine dinning. This time, though, the food was spicier than before. I think there is a new chef. The lobster mac and cheese had cayenne and the stuffed flounder had jalapeño. Not what we had expected having been there many times before. And prices are high ($50 a person).

A Fun Experience

Last week, we were blessed with a beautiful, sunny Saturday. As we emerge from the quarantine, we were looking for a place to dine that had outdoor seating. We found Yanni's - and we just loved it! The food was quite good and the ambiance was just "feel good". We were sitting in an outdoor "tented" area - there was lots of company - but everyone was spaced apart. The restaurant was very welcoming and well run. Sitting beside the water and watching the boats made for a perfect almost summer night. We would go back here in a heartbeat!

Great pasta dishes

I have been to Yanni's a few times and got the Chicken Parm dish and this time the Capellini pasta dish. Both times they were excellent. Another time I got the Buffalo chicken tender wrap and that was also fairly good. In the summer you can sit outside and see the boats and the river although you can get a table next to some noisy people. Inside is spacious enough so the noise is dispersed. In the evening on the weekends there is live music sometimes. I'll be back for more delicious food and relaxing atmosphere.

poor social distancing, large crowds

Today I took my 93 year old father. I was horrified !!!! There was a party in a large group. Although the group was sectioned off, Many were all over the restaurant with no masks and almost no social distancing. including the entrance. I am not sure why the ownership didn't correct this. The food was not great and the presentation even worse. If you like eating from aluminum and plastic, this is the place for you. lovely views of the marina , but that's about it. Very disappointed!!

Fantastic calamari!!!!!

This was the best fried calamari I have EVER had!!! The waitress Gianna was fantastic, attentive, and made sure the meal was perfect. The beautiful deck outside by the river was so nice to sit at. The view of the boats & fish in water was great. Highly recommend!!!!! Just a few minutes off Thruway!

Nice brunch spot on the river

Return visit for our Book Club which has now become a summer tradition. Sat on the covered deck with a nice view of the marina and ships coming in. Delicious food, strong drinks and friendly service. Fish items were very fresh.

Well-earned props

They list the awards they have won, but they are clearly well-earned. Plus, it's a clear indication they are good at their craft. The calamari was killer, as advertised. We also had chowder, a captains mixed fried platter and pork chops. All were delicious and well done; it's a surprise to me when a joint excels in meat AND seafood. I noticed our waitress and others were seasoned and sharp and on their game --- ready with advice, and quick with what you needed. And, they have a lovely restaurant and location. Pretty much, they are hitting on all cylinders.

Had a family lunch for 15 people and two children

Very nice family lunch after a funeral/burial for my father in law, right On the Hudson River with a huge barge going up river. Food was surprisingly good and service was also good.

Great time

Great food - love the shrimp n scallops over pasta - excellent service. The place was packed and the waitress was running back-and-forth constantly but she did not miss a beat. The wine was cold and the drinks are good. We try to come here a few times a year when we are visiting upstate New York. Found out that they will be open year-round. Glad to hear that as we will definitely go back.
