My first time there. Had the massive lobster roll, which was as advertised, very large. $21.95 for the 1/2# of meat. Still, as I hadn't been in New England, I splurged. The food was very good. Service staff were highly knowledgeable about menu selections and local area. For those visiting the first time, you order at the counter, and dinner... More

I love fried belly clams and so does my son. I brought him and my wife to Matt's for his B'day dinner and was very disappointed. Not only were the clams small and soggy, they had an off taste. The portion was on the small size and the sides and sauces were very ordinary. My wife had a broiled sea... More

A very sub-par meal. Ordered the seafood platter with lobster. Got 3 very small claws that were rubbery and tasteless. Could not eat them. Scallops were watery. Shrimp was not bad. Baked potato had to have been cooked the day before and warmed up. Not worth the $21 a platter. Wasted my money. Will not go back.

My girlfriend and I stopped out here for dinner the other night. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. We both ordered the same thing ... the fried seafood platter. Scallops were tasty, clams were good, fish was cooked perfectly. The sides were very good as well. This is more like a fast food joint rather than a formal restaurant... More

Matt's seems to be one of those seafood restaurants that only the most local of patrons know about. Nothing fancy about this place but the seafood really is great. I've lived on the coast of Maine and this holds up to that standard very well. Seafood Platter is excellent! Only wish the clam chowder could be more New Englandly but... More

We've (wife & I) been going to Matt's frequently and for a long time. This last time my fish (fried haddock) was as mushy as mashed potatoes. Don't know if it was lacking freshness, poor prep, or poor cooking - but we won't be returning. I did notice that the staff was much younger this time - could be lack... More

This a great place for fresh seafood at a good price. They have a very good menu and everything I have had has been really good. Check it out.

Matt's is the place for lunch or dinner if you are looking for seafood! Great service and really good food. That's the combination you want.

I am in the area for work and saw this place along with some solid pictures on Yelp. I had the lobster roll which was fantastic. It was a little different as it was served on a bun. The bun was buttered and the warm butter had a bit of mayo in there which really set off the lobster roll.... More
