As always, an amazing meal with the best staff! I will truly miss what has ended up being one of the highlights of our regular trips north. Consistent, amazing food in a European inspired stone structure with the best views in the 1000 islands. The...staff will be missed most of all. Kallie Amber, Mark and the fantastic waitress we had yesterday (sorry can’t remember name) will be missed as much as the culinary experience itself. Best wishes to you all!More

We enjoyed the ambiance, the food and reasonable prices. The outdoor deck was too cold to sit outside but we got some nice photos there. Good menu for vegans and vegetarians. For my husband’s birthday they provided a complimentary drink!

Brunch at The Chateau was one of the highlights of our trip to the 1000 Islands! Beautiful outdoor setting on the patio overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Our food was delicious…I had the Vanilla French Toast Croissants with orange whipped marscapone and Grand Marnier syrup....And don’t even get me started on the mimosas…..they were fabulous! Our service was excellent……maybe the previous reviewers just caught them on a bad day. Can’t speak to dinner, but I highly recommend the brunch! And the mimosas!!More

The Culinary experience at The Chateau was an unexpected pleasant surprise, great service in a comfortable atmosphere. For Apps, we tried Oysters 2 ways- both raw and chargrilled, the Buratta was so fresh and smooth, Lobster Bisque gets great review also! Lamb Osso Bucco, Diver...Scallops and the Salmon (featured Catch) all had complex flavor combinations that were pleasing to the palate. It is pricey, so beware, and if your around at sunset, make sure you get out to the patio for dessert and watch the sun set on the river!More

I ordered This is Sparta and my husband ordered biscuits and gravy. We both thought the food was pretty mediocre. Although the individual ingredients were good quality, they did not combine well. It was not tasty. My husband’s main complaint was that he didn’t like...the gravy.More

We have been to The château a number of times and it has always been a great experience. However, this time we were extremely disappointed. The service was terrible. There is more to the story but I’ll keep it brief. Our drinks were left sitting...on the bar for at least 10 minutes by the server, who walked by them at least twice. When our food eventually came out 45 minutes after we ordered it, half of it (hot egg entrees) was cold. Though whoever responded to my private message advising them of what had happened did apologize, there was no offer of even a free drink on a future visit. Something, as a small food business owner myself, would have done.More

I have to say that our breakfast was the best one I’ve had in years and I am a very picky eater! My wife convinced me to leave our hotel restaurant for this one and I was mesmerized by the coffee (got a second cup...just to taste it again), the oyster with spinach breakfast was creamy and delightful and the avocado Bennie had hand-cut bacon and a perfect cook time… It was made even more enjoyable with the stunning view of the Saint-Lawrence river and the service was worthy of a place called a “Chateau”. It's only a 6 minute drive from the Clayton harbor hotel and its well worth the drive.More

A gem of a place for brunch or dinner suggested by their distillery store in downtown Clayton. Once a nunnery, the stone restaurant with a distillery next door was a great experience. It is a farm to table restaurant. There is also a boutique hotel...on site. The view of the river is amazing. The food and the service were impeccable. We enjoyed the total experience. We didn’t have time to visit the distillery, but will next time. Highly recommend a visit.More

I didn’t think the Chateau could get any better, but it did. A picture perfect day with bright sunny blue skies and the slightest breeze. Overlooking the St. Lawrence River a perfect day for alfresco brunch. Bloody Mary’s and a house margarita started us off....Lox Benny is my favorite and I am glad it is back. The Frenchie was ALMOST as great as our smiling waitress Amber. Both sweet & Impeccable service. The Chateau is a St. Lawrence Landmark and a destination venue.More

Had a fantastic Sunday night dinner here. I had the duck and DH had the special beef cut of the day. Both agreed our entrees were excellent and after sharing an appetizer did not have room for dessert. Half price wines by the glass on...Sunday made dinner far more affordable as well. Enjoyed our dinner so much we can back for lunch the next day while on vacation. Again an excellent meal. DH had the French toast special and I had one of the skillets. We ate every bite. Not sure why there weren’t more people there as well definitely loved both mealsMore

We made our reservation on Open Table. In the choice there was "outdoor" or "inside." With restaurants this always means that you either want to eat indoors or al fresco. At this restaurant it means you either want pub food (sandwiches) or fine dining. When...we were told that we were going to be offered essentially lunch for dinner, we asked if we could eat in the "fine dining" restaurant that we had thought we had booked. No such luck. Not only could we not eat in the dining room, but we could not be served the dinner that was being served there, though the restaurant was only a few feet away. The sandwiches were fine, though the selections were few. The $40 oversized hors d'oeuvres plat was plentiful with lots of cheeses, meats and olives. But why on earth any restaurant spoil their gorgeous view of the St. Lawrence River with mediocre bar food.More

The food was pretty good- unless you wanted oysters and then you would be out of luck. Filet was superb. Duck was ok- the skin was chewy. Some of the food was oversalted. The waiter was weird and wouldn’t serve mussels even though it was...being served 3 feet away at the bar. We did a tasting at the distillery and we got the cold shoulder from the young lady serving. It was extremely off putting since we were the only couple present on a Monday evening. Hotel front desk young man was very attentive- including when he brought an ice bucket to place under the leaking bathroom sink. The room seemed clean but again- weird and inconsistent. Great view/strange decor. Stained bedside tables with price tags. Beautiful huge room/dirty white upholstery. Definitely not worth the $$$More

The location of this chateau can't be beat! The view is gorgeous, especially at sundown. Aim to sit at the bar or outside (if it' not cold). The food is great and the drinks, in our case, were amazing.
