We stopped just to get a beverage for the road but decided to have an early dinner as everyone seated at the picnic tables was raving about the food - great wild game burgers, amazing chili, fresh potato chips, you name it, it was getting rave reviews. Our burgers, dogs, chili and potato chips (made on the spot fried tortilla... More

My wife and I had spent the day in Cooperstown at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and were on our way back to our hotel in Sharon Springs when we spotted the TePee along Route 20 - a giant tepee, gift shop and hot dog stand from America's past with magnificent scenic views. It was 7:30 pm, we hadn't... More

We have lived in the area for 17 years but this was our first visit to Tepee Pete's. We had read great Trip Advisor ratings on the chili and it did not disappoint! Hands down this was the best chili I have ever had. Pete offers a free chili shot to anyone who has never tried his chili. We sampled... More

Was in the area and stopped by with a group of friends during a roadtrip & was not disappointed. Tepee Pete's Chow Wagon has all the charm of a kitschy roadside attraction without sacrificing quality of service or food. The food is delicious and Pete is the perfect combination of welcoming and enthusiastic. Tepee Pete's has a solid selection of... More

My friends and I were at Howe Caverns for a bachelorette weekend. This was a short 20-30 minute drive, and well worth it. Pete was just the sweetest and most welcoming cook. The food was great, fun to see the tepee, but Pete really made it fun!

So glad we stopped!!! Highly recommend a visit. The chili was delicious and Tepee Pete blended 3 kinds for me for a customized perfect fit. Great stop along our US 20 cross country road trip. Thanks Pete.

US Highways never disappoint, and in Pete's we found a particular treasure. Pete operates a tepee food truck adjacent to an old-school (sizeable) Native American gift store. He takes great pride in his food, and really seems to love his vocation. He makes his own chili using all kinds of game and meats, and for us vegetarians he happily brought... More
