We were staying overnight before a flight. I am a big fan of beef on weck and heard that Charlie's was very good. It proved to be correct. We both had the beef sandwiches and they were great. The real surprise was the split pea soup which was very good. Highly recommend!

Went here with a family member for lunch. As always, fresh and tasty food for fair prices. Expect to wait if you are ordering sausage or fish fry or something that needs to be grilled or fried. Roast Beef and turkey are so juicy and flavorful, kimmelwick rol is dipped in au jus for the roast beef sandwiches which adds... More

Known only in the Buffalo area, beef on weck is a "must have" sandwich and Charlie the Butcher's serves it up right! For the uninitiated a "weck" bun is a fluffy white bun topped with coarse salt and caraway seeds...split it and pile on some tender beef, mmmmmmm. Several locations are available to serve you. We ate at the Cayuga... More

Buffalo is known for its Beef on Weck (Kimmelwick buns) Charlie the butcher does it best. Whenever I get out to the Buffalo area I have to go there. It's tradition. They serve beef on Weck in very few places east of Buffalo. The place is small like a hometown diner. You can eat in or have it to go.... More

Charlie's is one of cheektowogas treasures. You will not find a roast beef like this anywhere else. It's relatively old fashioned there. I couldn't possibly recommend somewhere more in this area.

ALWAYS great hand-carved roast beef, turkey, ham, or corn beef sandwiches. not to mention at least two homemade soups daily. Open for lunch or dinner, 2 miles from the Buffalo airport.

Use the beef on the day you pick it up for freshest results. Heat the au jus to very hot, dip each slice into it. Don't leave it sitting in the au jus because it will toughen the beef. Save money by rolling the slices yourself. I haven't bought side dishes in a long time, but they were pretty good... More

Visited this location this last Sat night with my wife. Being from Detroit I had to try this Beef on Wrek I kept reading about & Charlie's was rated #1. Very small cute place. Order, sit at tables with room for about 20 people total. Service was good & the beef on wrek was excellent. Very tender beef. Wife had... More

A Buffalo tradition and one of the best....Beef on Weck and this restaurant serves the best of the best. Prices are reasonable. Not fancy, just down home and in summer a fun outdoor seating area. Other items on the menu are just average but that Beef is terrific.

I'm from eastern upstate NY and visit Buffalo fairly often for work. This place is so small and "insignificant" that it won't show up much on the list of Buffalo restaurants. That being said, I can't recommend it enough. You will often see Charlie there, working with his employees. That was the case today when I stopped by mid-afternoon. It... More
