I've passed by this place many times but never stopped in. I finally stopped in with my coworkers on a hot day. I have to say that I was surprised to see the inside! It looks much better inside than the outside does! I was expecting a hole in wall, dingy place but it was actually nice. It was warm... More

My band had a gig here and the food looked great. A week later we were looking for somewhere new and nearby and I figured let's try it out...was not disappointed. Meal starts with server bringing fresh potato chips to the table. A great beer selection and a Friday night prime rib special that cannot be beat. I had the... More

My husband and I had been wanting to try this place for awhile, but each time we came, there was no parking available. Finally this time we got a spot. The good - staff is friendly and polite; and the building is interesting. The not good - Food was bland - neither of us liked what we got - bland... More

This pub looks like it is still in the 1970's. The atmosphere is awesome. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Typical pub food choices but very well done. There are many daily specials different for each day of the week. Thursday is karaoke night! The prices are very reasonable. The bar has TV and is on the smaller... More

I've been coming to The Sulky on a regular basis for a couple of years now, and have yet to be disappointed. As others have noted, the menu is somewhat limited, but the quality of the food presented is consistently excellent. How such quality food can emerge from such a tiny kitchen amazes me! And at extremely reasonable prices to... More

Don't be turned off by the dirt parking lot and exterior it adds to the charm. Once inside the decor is typical bar but the food is WAY above average. Had a salmon special for 13.95included rice salad veg. As good as anywhere. Wife had a chicken special and friends had burgers that looked more then satisfying. Service was good... More

My friend and I are always on the lookout for local restaurants to try out. We went here tonight for the first time. As previous reviewers said, parking is tight and from the outside, not much to look at but looks are deceiving. There is an L shape bar when you first walk in which had a number people sitting... This is our second visit to this off the beaten path restaurant/pub. Friday night special is just that, SPECIAL. A 21 oz prime rib with steamed vegetables and a huge pile of freshly mashed potatoes with the skins left on. This topped with a pair of nice sized fried onion rings. Our waitress, a lovely primagravida., was extremely attentive to... More

In the greater Washingtonville area there is a lack of good, mainstream pub fare. But the Horse & Sulky on Sarah Wells Trail has ended the drought. The best-known pub/restaurant, Rambler's Rest, lies some 10 miles to the south, and serves up frozen burgers out of a Sysco box and shows very little imagination. The Horse & Sulky has a... More
